Any chance we could start using this currency for things that the old cataloged research was used for?
Sockets were a nice minor upgrade that could continuously be applied to new gear and upgrades. Maybe we could start there?

I have over 40k flux. I’d gladly pay 2k flux for a conduit upgrade.

Next week you will be using it for the conversion catalyst system. I seem to remember it costing several thousand to upgrade an item.

Money changers, we need them. They had one I believe back in Wrath, not sure why they decided to do away with it.

Some of us don’t need to use that system - but even if you did, players have TENS OF THOUSANDS of flux. Way more than practically necessary even if you use the system (especially) with the weekly cool down.
Just looking to use if for something related to character power progression.
You need 6900 to upgrade 5 pieces of gear to tier. And if you wanted to upgrade every slot, another 2800. Plus your 4000 for two legendaries to 291: 13700.
Well there is zero chance it will be sockets. Seeing they just added them as an option from the great vault currency and then it takes six unlocked slots to get a single socket.
Vault coins for sockets.
Flux eont become used for that.
Use flux to funnel alts leggo mats.
Creation catalyst will ise it.
Ppl complain there isnt enough currency usually. Never heard anyone complain theres too much. It just sits in a tab so is w/e
It would just be nice to use it for character progression.
There’s no reason why we couldn’t buy it with either flux or vault coins - or use flux to buy a bag of coins to minimize coding to make it happen.

Leggo mats for alts is power progression
If you could make boa for alts to get tier via catalyst that would be better
That means nothing for players that just play a main.
I’m in the same boat - and even further, just 1 spec. Would be nice to use it for power progression.
Relying on players to have bad luck to utilize the coins feels like a really big troll move if their intent is to only make sockets available that route.
Flux seems like a great option to continue minor power progression.
Also adding conduit upgrades in addition to sockets would feel good.

I don’t raid or do M+ and only do unrated PvP. I gets no use from the flux. But I know, I know… that means I should sit down and shut up because I play wrong.
I’d be more than happy to trade flux for the rare mount crafting mats from a vendor. I can’t get them to drop to save my life. Managed to get one pearl and made me a snail. 
That sounds insanely cringe.
Especially for new players with little gold - this option combines tens of thousands of gold worth of investment for the base pieces.
Well on the PTR they added the sandwore armor to the conversion process, so even people who only do world content might find something in their stockings in the near future.
It cost 10k in mats to make a rank 5 leggo based on what i bought yesterday (r1 + the boost thing from zm rep vendor)
Look, could flux have better uses? Probably
But op is asking for it to be used in ways that either other currency cover or blizz wont change and ignoring ways it can be used to help alts.
If you play one character, well idk what you farm zm for because other content is a bigger bang for your buck.

That’d be neat. But I’m not too terribly worried about the tier really. I’d probably get it anyway though if there wasn’t anything fun to spend the resource on.

Yeah - I think that’s the point from the start.
We won’t know if blizzard won’t change it unless we as a community voice up about it. Again, the whole point here.
Have they come out with Batman Fluxx yet?
If not, they really should. Other versions of Fluxx can be awesome!
Anything that would be useful to put into our mains for some kind of power gain.
Conduits and sockets seem like the best ideas.
