So last night I raided heroic uldir with CoH instead oh BH and heal as the filler. I still feel pretty strong, however I did notice on a few fights I was outhealed by our resto Druid which did not happen pre 8.1. What do you think about holy overall with the changes and will you drop bh for CoH?
Too early to know exactly what talents are a must and spell priority. I feel like Binding Heal and Benediction talents are ones we won’t use anymore. Halo and circle of healing is probably what we will be using but we need to wait for enough data to truly know whats best. Also we will probably be casting renew and heal much more since both those spells were buffed.
Last night was H Ghuun progression for the guild, so there wasn’t much good data to compare for me with all the boss resets. I did feel the mana drain from BH spam though. Heal was doing decent healing when it landed.
Hopefully these changes will allow more talent choices than some cookie cutter builds. At least for casual play, there are a few combinations I’d want to tryout.
I ran heroic last night, 1st three bosses. I felt weak as could be. I normally share the top spot with our Monk. However, I was consistently at the bottom and my rating from I don’t even know what addon, had me 3k or more points lower than usual. I rely heavily on BH, likely won’t anymore. I definitely need to figure out a better build or I’ll be playing my Monk.
I think circle of healing will be the best option. Before 8.1 circle of healing what barely below BH and now with the nerf to BH I think circle of healing will be the best choice.

honestly, they need to drop the speed of heal, binding heal was alright. Binding would allow us to heal 1 target plus another option, albeit low heals.
Heal is great, but by the time you get it off you could use any other spell twice. Renew feels underwhelming, prayer of mending, should be reworked at bit. Perhaps have it charge after a player in range to heal if they take damage. As in seek out damage targets opposed to having it proc when damaged.(if that makes sense)
I do feel out of all healers, priest will drag this xpac.
maybe bring back holy well with the glyphed version that healed

I tried coh over binding, but coh has the same problem poh has, which is that it’s a dumb heal. If I throw coh on a character with 4 full health allies around them, those 4 allies get pointlessly overhealed. Granted with uldir raid damage you’ll probably hit 2 or 3 targets, but there are usually enough full health people that you won’t be getting full mileage from your 5man dumb heals. So I’m back on bh for the moment.
Yeah, binding heal is probably not a good option now after the nerfs, most likely is Circle of Healing time. I haven’t had the time to test it much but looks like a good change that should make the gameplay more engaging, I didn’t really like the binding heal spam style.
Hum, I haven’t actually tested it in depth but it sure doesn’t sound like that based on the tooltip:
Circle of Healing: “Heals the target and 4 injured allies within 30 yards of the target”
Prayer of Healing: “Heals the target and the 4 nearest allies within 40 yards”

Or maybe we (the players) need to give it more than 24h and actually test things for a few weeks, play around with talents, adjust to the new builds and gameplay changes to see how we perform before start asking for reworks.
Based on the limited data we have so far for logs the throughput is looking very similar from what it was in 8.0.

I’m very grumpy about the graphics nerf for Holy Word: Serenity and Salvation. They’ve literally gone back to the WoW Vanilla graphics for those spells, while at the same time they gave Paladins super cool new effects (Which they totally needed, but still).
geeeeee i guess all those ptr folks and priest that have been off and on should be discredited.
holy is just as strong as before and CoH is a smart heal for those in here that are unaware
