Holinka caved in quickly when we all qq’d about BiS gear from Ashran. iirc the 10% blanket healing nerf at one point was quickly reverted, too. As far as responding to the playerbase goes, that was pretty good.

Holinka probably had one of the most welcomed receptions ever imo because he took over around S13-S14 which were some of the best starting points for PvP I’ve ever seen. WoD went poorly as it was just SUCH a step down from MoP imo and I know a lot of people, me included, held him as having dropped the ball there. There is something about him I like though, hope this tweet turns out to be the forebearer of positive news. At this point a solid expansion lore wise along with increased complexity of classes (vs. adding artifacts, passive traits to gear, etc.) and improved gameplay (i.e. more like MoP) would be a HUGE start.
