Serious Question…
Before I quit the game before WOTLK came out, I transferred two of my characters to Faerlina because my Guild transferred but was going to wait on my main until later on when more people did.
I then ended up quitting before that happened.
So I literally cannot transfer my main there anymore, even though I have multiple characters there.
How is this OK?
My friends/family play on that server, but I cannot play my main there… lol?
How can I be paying for a service and not be able to play a character with my family/friends that I’ve sunken 110 /played days since Classic Launch?
How do you let this happen? How is it that your only feedback for this in support tickets is, oh its a thing we can’t override…? Why can you not override it individually. You own the game… How do you let this get so bad that people’s only course of action is just “not play the game”… What kind of decision making is this?
If overpopulation is the real issue, why can’t you give me an option to delete one of my characters on Faerlina to make room for the transferred character? Problem solved and you make 25$. Honestly whoever is in charge of this decision should be gone. Part of the problem 100%.
I did a /who on a Sunday night at 8:30 and there was 31 horde TOTAL on Earthfury… LOOOOOOOOOL. WHY are you even offering a transfer to a more populated realm? JUST MERGE THE REALM already.
C’mon guys, your better then this. This is outrageous.

Its to not have them shoot up in population again is the line given.
My stance here is this though.
They gave the option to make new chars on these servers.
Give us the option to move assets for that char. I don’t need to my chars there potentially. I could make a level 1. If I could move stuff there.
I’d take the level 1 char. But I need them setup with gold and materials/items from my banks really.
Fresh did not go well on fresh servers. Fresh on servers where AH assumes everyone has 2 80’s by now to make gold? Yeah…no.

I have 3 characters on that server. I also have 1 character on a different realm (my main) who has all my time invested, Atiesh, and other cool items.
There should be no reason why I can’t transfer a character over, if I could delete one of the ones I have there.
There is no reason why I shouldn’t be able to play on a server where I have established characters there already. Not some level 1’s or something holding acct names.
I second this. Makes no sense why I have a level 70 stuck on a realm nobody is on, while my other characters are already on a locked realm. NOT LIKE I CAN BE ON THEM AT ONCE

They’d have to redo the entire xfer system and that’s not going to happen.
They do not have it currently set up to detect if you have characters there yet.

The tin foil says well you can boost on the servers on new account. and that was a goal.
But that bit them on the butt hard if so lol. The biggest takers of that option were bots lol. they probably shotgunned the freebie (when an option) on say grobb and a 2nd dk on whatever realm got the boost. Most likely bene or faerlina.
Transfers like you said can only be the one player.

wont your transfer lower Earthfury by another 3% ?

Oh man, they’d have to do development work?
So I can create as many characters as I want on a server that’s locked, but I can’t actually transfer a character over.
Seems like a very smart decision.
The xfer system is for both retail and classic. So it would require a fair bit of effort.
It’s not gonna happen

Sounds like your friends and family should have told you of the over population of faerlina and blizz was going to lock all mega servers to transfers.
My other question is why did u transfer 2 characters over there and leave your main on the server. Sounds like poor planning on your part and now you are just another player blaming blizzard for it.

My guess is they don’t want you to transfer your main there because you’d play it more than your alts. Therefore making it more likely that the server would have a queue. They’re fine with people rerolling because they know the vast majority of people won’t do that.
You had the opportunity to xfer and you didn’t. It’s closed now, yes it doesn’t make much sense that you’re not adding to the population of that server but there are limitations on the how the xfers work. Changing those rules probably has some more underlying issues so I wouldn’t count on that happening. Moral of the story, poop or get off the toilet.
I transferred my alts there first because Guild transferred over, in preparation, before the Guild pulled the trigger on it. And then I had a baby and quit and never got to transfer my main.
So the reality is I’m playing my alt character that I really don’t want to play because its the path of least resistance. I would have deleted that character and transferred my main over to play him instead because that’s the character I wanted to play and had spent all my time on, should I have been given the chance. Not going to level another of the same toon or boost another of the same toon but my toon has all the cool stuff I’ve earned like Atiesh and epic flying and all that.
The reality here is we’re making excuses for a AAA game studio because they don’t have the tech to do that? So make it. One of the biggest fundamental issues with Classic WOW since its inception is the overpopulation and underpopulation balance of servers, in part of, because they allow people to just transfer whenever they want.
So you created the problem, but screw people over afterwards who don’t act in time or have other life things going on, and then knowing full well for the last 3 expansions that this is a problem, not do anything about it.
And you have your fanbase shilling behind you saying, “well the tech isn’t there for that”. So make it and fix your problem you created. They are a developer, they develop things. That’s a feature that can be developed and I’m fairly certain the tech behind (“scanning the realm your transferring to – to make sure you have characters there already – maybe even a high level character”) isn’t a hard problem to overcome. If ANYTHING it just makes them more money from more transfers.
They could change it but they won’t. It’s not a skill issue, it’s a deterrent to just xferring to a mega realm. If they only barrier to entry was having a toon on the server already of X level, people would create a toon on a new account, boost it, and then transfer their desired characters over.
I can make unlimited characters on Faerlina right now if I wanted to.
If you don’t have a character on that realm, you cannot.
So you can’t just spin a new account up and do what you suggested.
There’s a deterrent already in place. Those who have characters on Faerlina can create new characters without a problem. We just can’t transfer our existing charatcers over… Which defeats the purpose. If I’m ONLINE one one of my characters, I am OFFLINE on another. I can only play on one character at a time.
And I can create infinite number of new characters.
Logic is flawed in this argument and the only thing that doesn’t make sense is blizz decision to prevent transfers on servers that are locked that you already have established characters on.
Seems like you screwed up, kid. Life doesn’t reward quitters.

That sucks. Happened to me before. Just let it go. It’s not worth the effort.
Life doesn’t reward people that pause playing a video game because you had a life (child)?
Totally want to live the life your living… Sounds like loads of fun sitting in moms basement sh!tposting on forums without having responsibilities.
Cool.
