Hold to Continue Casting coming in DF

It’s coming in DF where you can turn on the option to simply hold down your spell button and it will keep casting that same spell over and over without the need to re-press the spell.

This is not only great for the disabled players, and not just those who cannot keep up in pressing buttons for extended periods, but our keyboards will last longer.

I main Enhancement, I can’t for the life of me wonder what I would need it for, maybe multiple Purges and/or heals, but that’s about it.

This’ll be really useful for my ret. I find myself using multiple Flash of Lights because it’s the only spammable healing spell that I have.

I watched Kelani’s Vid on YT about it, seems cool.

idk how to feel about that tbh.

chaining things well without missing a beat is kinda part of the skill curve a lil bit.
could be the difference between two identically geared players.

im glad if it helps some disabled ppl but at the end of the day its one less thing in the skill-curve heh

one step closer to mobile wow lol - DansGame

you know auto-aim would help disabled ppl play shooters but maybe its still not a good idea  see what i mean?

It doesn’t work. (for now) So difficult to say.

none of this is correct. your actions get queued in this game long before they activate/start casting. if you are able to hold a button before your gcd resets, it’s the same as being able to tap it once. The only practical use for this is you don’t have to mash the same key over and over when repeat casting something.

hm you should try outlaw  it performs a lot better if you press when you should instead of spamming.

I played with a combat veteran who had lost some of his fingers on both hands, and hes still one of the best healers I ever played M+ with.

you completely missed the point. you don’t have to pinpoint press any button for any class right as your gcd rolls around. you might be an idiot.

might be

whats next? auto target closest casting mob when you press interrupt? what about the potions being used automatically at x% health? heck why not allow the whole rotation to be perfectly done by holding one button? all of that would help some disabled person somewhere…

i got nothing against this thing in particular. but i dont like the general direction it points to.

Hmmm. So, a feature to assist in casting filler spells / abilities by physically holding down a keybind / holding the left button of a mouse on skill is now equal to Aim-Bot.

Wonder how you feel about closed captions…

i was extrapolating… not everything that helps disabled persons are a good thing for the game in general.

this thing is fine, but it opens the path to more in that direction, which would be more suited to mobile gaming/auto-play games in my book. i dont like that.

youre free to have a different opinion no need to clown around it lol

i’ll be fine with it if it stops there. im just worried it won’t.

Ah yes.

Hmm, so according to you those with disabilities dont know how to do or know about rotations on their class/spec… interesting take.

What “more” would that open up to or even be? Or just speculating with sensationalism to make it seem more bad than good?

Ableism in its purest form.

ive said my piece. nothing i can add. you either see my point or you dont. it’s fine.

feel free to pile on

It would take alooot of effort to change my muscle memory for the ole spamy spamy on the keys

I’m just gonna keep doing what I’m doing because I’m lazy

I’m sure a section of the population are great full though!

This is legitimately the thing i am most excited about in DF so far. Going to make casters feel so much better to play.

implying spam mashing a button is “skill”

I think the only class this will really have an impact on is mage. Since they’re the only one i can think of who spams filler for extended periods of time.

Just holding fireball instead of mashing it.

Maybe DH too, depending on build.

Needs to be added to classic
