Hold off T-Mog Farming until Warbands?

I love doing the old content but I keep wondering if it would be a better use of my time to wait then collecting would go faster.

Thoughts?

yes i would wait till then but i would be shocked if they fliped the switch on 10.2.5

Well if you want to collect mogs rn, you can.

In the long run it would be faster. I have some pieces I really want for mog so I still farm but if it’s just to fill out the collection I’d probably wait.

the problem is that we don’t know if it will work like that

I’m just saying if the op wants to collect mogs rn like the usual way, he/she/they should. Its going to be awhile before the feature opens, most likely in about a year

From the last interview, possibly. Why they can’t retroactive things is beyond me, since soulbound whites and grays in my bank were added to my collections. But apparently they aren’t doing that for this change.

Also: tier won’t be one of the things that works for this either.

I would be happy for other people if it was retroactive, but I would probably cry lol I just cleaned out my bank this summer after hoarding cool/rare soulbound items I couldn’t use.

If you are doing content where you one shot everything, im not sure how your warband one shotting everything will be any different.
oh, loot drops and rewards…
Can you trade rewards to the Warband? do they count as “Players eligible for this loot”

Farm now and later. It’s entirely up to you. Do you want to idle for a year or possibly get the items now?

I still have 20-30 minutes of dead time to fill between Solo Shuffle queues, so I will still TMog farm but I hate knowing that my time investment is now inefficient.

Honestly they need to take that update and just go live with it now. There is no reason for such a quality of life improvement to held onto for a year.

I already got the war within, at least give it to those who have the xpack ya know?

How I see Warbands are if you have a plate, mail, leather and cloth tied to the Warband and your soloing on a plate character but get something else, it will still go to your wardrobe. I hope its like that.

thats the idea behind it

Oh so class specific stuff is locked? This feature just became a whole lot less exciting x.x

I’m sure you can do the same thing now. It’s “not retroactive” in that if you get stuff and then vendor it before Warbands come out you won’t get the mog, but if you hold on to it I can’t see why you wouldn’t get the appearence.

Because the last interview said that’s not how it’s going to work.

Thats not too bad if your rolling multiple characters of the same class and/or soloing a place packed with gear like Throne of Thunder (especially the Thunder forged gear) and can only pick one difficulty a week per character. It’s a small price to pay for everything else.

…but yeah if its a raid like Onyxia and trying to get that one type of class helm (like I did) then yeah it kinda sucks. I guess it just depends on the instance.

It is going to be almost a year before warbands are a thing. If you want to wait that long, then yes.

When the changes to transmog collection goes through, I’ll just start rerunning old content on my paladin.

I’ve been half-heartedly farming the judgement plate set for a few weeks. Once the announcement was made, I started banking all the drops. Now I’ve got just about all of tier 2 for every class in my vault, along with a dozen or so off pieces. I might start doing that for every tier that doesn’t use tokens. :crossed_fingers: that they make the tokens BoP or something if they can’t figure out how to make that work.
