Not sure how phase 2 is going to change that. If you dont have time to raid then phase 2 isnt going to change a thing.

What they need to do is have a PVP content phase plan different from PVE.

Did they announce it this week? No looking at November December at the latest calm your tats.

I would be fine if it was Februrary or March.

There was a blue post i copied and pasted towards the end of their content release plan on their sticky. I’ll try to find it. Outlines their PvP phase plan.

"Since we broke down the six phases of content that we’ll be rolling out for Classic, we’ve heard the increase in requests for PvP details so we wanted to get you up to speed on our plans there.

As was the case when World of Warcraft originally launched in 2004, there won’t be a formal PvP system in WoW Classic at the outset. You’ll still be able to PvP, of course, and there will be no Dishonorable Kills, so you’ll be free to repeatedly hunt down every player and NPC in, say, Stranglethorn Vale to your stealthy heart’s content.

That’ll change once phase 2 rolls around and we add the Honor System, which will introduce Honorable Kills, Dishonorable Kills, and PvP Rank Rewards. The items you earn from the PvP Rank Rewards will be the versions from patch 1.12. Keep in mind though, just as it did originally, it will require a substantial time investment to rank up through the Honor System. For those interested in the Rank Rewards, earning epic gear will require consistent dedication over a long period of time as a top contributor on your realm. We don’t expect to see many people running around with these items early on, but we’re certain Hillsbrad Foothills will still see its fair share of action!

In the third phase, we’ll introduce the first Battlegrounds: Alterac Valley (version 1.12 ) and Warsong Gulch, alongside with their associated vendors. One thing to note is that there were a couple of updates to these vendors over the course of the original patch releases, so some items won’t be available right away. For example, the Spell Penetration trinkets available from the Warsong Gulch vendor weren’t introduced until Patch 1.9, so we’re currently thinking that we’ll add these in phase 5.

The Arathi Basin Battleground will follow in phase 4, along with its specific vendor. It’ll be interesting to see how many people stay behind to guard the flag.

Finally, in phase 6, we’ll have the world PvP objectives in Silithus and Eastern Plaguelands, which will come out at the same time as Naxxramas.

Here’s what the PvP content looks like mapped to the phases we recently posted about:

Phase 1 (WoW Classic Launch)

  • You can PvP one another in the world, but there is no tracking, and no formal rewards for doing so.

Phase 2

  • Honor System (including Dishonorable Kills)
  • PvP Rank Rewards

Phase 3

Phase 4

  • Arathi Basin

Phase 6

  • World PvP objectives in Silithus and Eastern Plaguelands

As we mentioned before, we haven’t yet determined exactly when each of the content phases will occur but we’ll keep you updated as they draw closer.

We’re here reading what you have to say, so we wanted to thank all of you for your feedback and discussions about Classic. Keep it going!"

Should have had Warsong Gulch available to level 60s from the get go, without honor or reputation rewards / gains at the least.

agreed. The want to have the original feel to the game but you cant have that feel again also is the PVP phasing different than the PVE phasing or are they linked together?
because right now we need Phase 3 PVP ASAP and not so much Phase 2 PVP.

Hey blizzard please wait on the OK from flozzel to move into phase 2. The rest of us don’t matter

Thanks

The only thing i wanna make sure i have done before phase 2 is have epic mount, and that my alt is at least 40.

We have the same opinion. However this was my opinion within days of the phases announcement.

While I had no idea at the time that layers would be abused and that all nerfs would be dropped at the beginning, the facts are that most of us have real life commitments every day today.

Point is that most people shouldn’t have all their gear, MC, Onyxia, and every thing else finished at this point. I don’t.

I remember speculating that Blizz should wait at least 6 months before going to phase two. By this time, most people will have at least one character good to go, and have everything else established… bank alts, maybe another character or two at 60 for different professions access, etc.

Meanwhile the rest of the people I know who aren’t 60 either, think Blizzard needs to hurry up, and go to phase 3 so we can get some BG’s in between leveling. The rate they will drop these phases is going to be killer as they will be riding the line of boredom causing people to stop playing. Some people only came back for the PvP, and they may have to wait months more for it outside of the random gank.

Still waiting on the 1st patch which will bring in keyrings, which is TBD as far as release of that.

The fact people over played and exploited shouldnt negatively effect those playing the game a reasonable amount of time on a regular basis without cheating.

Selfishly I hope they don’t drop it til November, or December been playing since launch, and taking my time I’ll be 60 soon, and not have to worry about being FP camped

Personally I think you under played. There are plenty of people on my guild with less time to play that are getting max level in the past few weeks or this week.

To that end the only major game play change people leveling are going to notice is that pvp will have value. All that hemming and hawing from influencers and other people how DM was going to ruin MC by making it “too easy” turned out to be a lot of nothing considering how easy MC already was in 1.12.

To that end I wouldn’t expect phase 2 before deciding as layers ate still being worked out

It makes zero sense for Blizzard to release phase 2 for a few more months.

If anything, they’re going to try to funnel people back to retail for the WoW anniversary events through December at the very least.

Not to mention they can’t remove layering with populations still being too high on almost every server.

Phase 2 pvp eill be fine

all of their recent classic announcements have been hours-days before going into effect, phase 2 could be tomorrow

Honestly don’t see it til after Blizzcon still to early to announce TBC or Classic+ servers, would also make sense to have the PvP come with the 15th anniversary
