Hold "Alt" to view PvP tooltip

Spells in WoW are becoming increasingly different in PvP from PvE. Many are nerfed or buffed by 10-70% or have slightly different functionality. For years I’ve wanted an easy way to view PvP tooltips the same as they’re shown when in an arena, such as being able to hold down “alt” and have the PvP tooltip pop up.

If I knew of resources that have the code that would be needed to make this, I’d see if my copy/paste skills are enough to make an addon like this. I don’t know enough to make it from scratch though. I want to be able to hold down “alt” and have a second tooltip pop up that shows the arena PvP tooltip when I’m in PvE.

Lost Ark does exactly this. Is there any way to create an addon that recreates this functionality for WoW? Is it even possible?

PS. I’m currently using the PvP tooltips addon from wowarenalogs.com. I like it but I don’t want to just see what modifiers a spell has as this addon does, I want to see the actual tooltip you see when in arenas.

Thanks!

Can you give me a specific example where the tooltip might differ? I’m digging into this for you, but I need information and an example where there are differences.

Also, a screen print of the PVE tooltip and the PVP tooltip would help.

For instance, most long-duration CCs like Polymorph, Imprison, Fear, etc are capped at 5-8 seconds against other players. It doesn’t say anywhere on the tooltip exactly how long they are in arenas unless you’re actually in an arena.

The ability “Darkness” for DH is only 20% chance in PvE, but it’s 50% in arenas/bgs. “Legsweep” for Monks is a 3-second stun in PvE, but a 5-second stun in arenas/bgs. I want to be able to see these arena/bg only tooltips outside of arenas/bgs.

The tooltips don’t change when turning on warmode either, only when in an arena/bg.

I don’t have time to go into skirmishes to get screenshots right now, but I’ll try to do it tomorrow if I have time, if it’ll help.
