Atlas tells me its from emperor. Classicdb tells me its from emperor. However, a lot of people run angerforge for it. Simple question - who drops it and cite your source please.

My Atlas has always told me its from Angerforge… Not sure what version of Atlas your using.
Until a later phase shakes up the drop tables, it drops from angerforge. It moves to emp later.

Anger forge. Google is your friend.
Many sites/mods tell you emperor because that’s who it dropped from at 1.12. So telling people “just google it” doesn’t fly in this case. There’s no telling what Blizzard decided to go with until you go there and see on this version of the game.
Just update your Atlas. I use the twitch app and update any time I can.

Wowhead shows you drop rates and how many times it’s been seen by players running their addon. Telling someone to google it does fly in this case since there is evidence to back the data. Not trying to be a jerk here. OP could’ve also asked in trade, general or lfg chat and received the same information.
Everyone says angerforge, I have been running stealth runs and getting instanced locked for some time now, I have YET TO SEE IT DROP A SINGLE TIME! I feel like yall are gaslighting me for funsies.

That said, the loot tables in BRD seem to be in a weird state between the original tables, and when the loot tables were flipped around later in Vanilla’s life span.
Certain items that were supposed to drop from Coffer event also drops in Chest of the Seven, and vice versa. I’ve seen Deathdealer’s Breastplate from both for example.
Supposedly, the loot revamp isn’t going live until Phase 5, which is when I suspect HoJ is going to drop off Emp:

It is from Angerforge, but the drop rate is really low at around 2%.
Your friend didn’t tell you the reason he’s having issues but the rest of the comments did. Being able to read beyond trying to make a clever comment “is your life saving grace”. Good luck, you will need it.
