Hoist the Sails, a Plunderstorm Has Arrived!

who’s the girl in the second video!!!

Feels like renown gained is missing a zero or something. Content is not engaging enough to warrant 40-60 hours of tryhard gameplay. Otherwise, has been/will be fun to queue a game here and there with friends

Nobody is going to give this 40-60 hours of gameplay, it’s horrible. The event will be dead by next week.

Guys this is the game mode is the style of game Proletariat, the studio Blizzard bought up, worked on. my guess is this was an onboarding project to familiarize those devs with the wow engine by.
quit yer panicking this is just a free be from something that needed to happen anyways.

::sigh:: Definitely and categorically not what I was expecting. A Battle Royale… not at all something I’m interested in, nor objectively chosen to play. And definitely not why I play WoW.

It has absolutely nothing to do with any of my existing characters, nothing to do with any of the things I’m interested in about WoW whatsoever, and is seriously lacking in any kind of prequel information or tutorial about what the heck I’m ‘supposed’ to be doing in order to succeed at even trying to play it.

A bit of a disappointment really - I was all excited to get off work today to see what ‘new and interesting content’ the devs had cooked up to enhance my gameplay in WoW. This doesn’t enhance it - it ‘distracts’ from it at best (because we’re really not doing anything to enhance or advance our characters other than possibly gaining some transmog cosmetics from what I can deduce about it from the information available.)

I hope those interested in such things enjoy the ‘event’ but frankly this could have been tossed in the launcher as a separate game and not flagged as a ‘patch’ to WoW at all.

While I will agree that there are things that can and should be done to enhance the player experience in both PvP and PvE alike within the game, I would never have ‘voted’ for this had I been given an option.

If I wanted to play a battle royale - there are plenty of them out there I would have likely selected over this.

I gave it a shot, and it’s terrible. I don’t play Fortnite and would thank you to keep any janky clones of it away from WoW.

Kindly add the cosmetics to the TP at some point, for those of us that can’t stomach this.

I’m a visually impaired player, I can’t PvP.

You promised a new WoW patch. Not something WoW adjacent with its own loading screen. Where are the quests? The storyline? Anything’s better than this.

Can’t argue with logic. Blizzard should take notes.

Yes please. I really hate missing out on the pets. I tried playing a couple of rounds and I hate it and got almost no renown. I’m still at just rank 2! I need at least rank 30 to get all the battle pets!

Blockquote It’s a limited event in a minor patch.

It’s not a patch to the game… it’s a whole separate game that offers cosmetic rewards.

I’ll try it but I have to say I am not particularly pleased with the fact I cannot use any of my existing characters and instead my btag apparently will show up?

One of the reasons I play wow is investment in my characters. They have stories, backgrounds, lives, quirks. One of them is even a pirate.

This is kind of in the same vein as forcing me to play Hearthstone or some other game in order to get content. I wouldn’t mind that so much but people are claiming I’ll need to spend 20-30 hours on it to get all the rewards? Contrast to hearthstone where to get the rewards took all of 30 minutes of playing a practice match or whatever.

This is barely WoW related. It’s not really new WoW content anymore than telling us to launch and play hearthstone games on hearthstone to get a mount or pet is content in WoW. It’s a tie-in MOBA thing within the WoW game in so far as you launch it from within the game.

The Hearthstone anniversary event by contrast is WoW content, it takes place within the existing game, with existing rules, spells, game mode, characters.

I’ll also mention for many of us this is just an unwanted game mode. If we wanted to play a great MOBA we’d play LoL. If we wanted to play a Blizzard themed one we’d play HoTs for which development was killed by you.

I hope this isn’t someone’s clever idea to force a bunch of player engagement so that it can be shown to the higher-ups at Microsoft to say “see MOBA is popular with our fanbase” in order to greenlight some project or revive something. Because that would be very dishonest and not nice to use players like that to help out a genre they’re frankly not interested in.

Well. uhhh. yeah.

Considering this is a whole new way of playing (basically a new game), it would be nice if we had a way to enter the game and adjust (or at least LOOK AT) the options & settings before we are forced into a match, only to get frustrated that the keys that have been assigned to the only action buttons are completely different that what we are used to playing with.
Not a very good 1st impression for this Temporary game mode that is just going to be ignored now that it’s pissed me off.

Next time you want to introduce something new…try an actual f^*#!ng INTRODUCTION, instead of providing no tutorial, intro, or opportunity to figure out how things work before forcing a match to start.

10 hours and only 33 likes says a lot about it. Renown needs to be raised.

40 - 80 games should be the max any player should be required to play.

Let’s see here no real content for dragonflight no announcement of classic+ realms either yea this sucks.

You get about a minute to try and figure things out before you get launched in the main area. Which isn’t a whole lot of time to figure things out if you’ve never played a BR before.
