This needs to die. When Ion did an interview with Hazelnutty, he never once mentioned that WoW’s engine is preventing player housing. All he said was it was going to take a lot of work and they haven’t ruled it out.

So no new engine, just generally more man-power and time than higher-ups are currently willing to allocate to R&D? Either way we really gotta get the bean counters out of there in favor of passionate management who value the product as much as the profit.

Yes, a game engine where you can drop items on the ground, for starters.
You can’t do that in WoW.

I’m starting to think “engine is preventing housing” is just something that people heard, decided to believe, and will stubbornly repeat it as fact like the granddaddy longlegs is the most poisonous spider but it’s teeth are too small to pierce your skin myth.

I dunno, there are a lot of toys we can drop on the ground. So it’s definitely possible.
They all despawn when you move 100 yards away.
If you want a house that despawns when you leave, sure, they could do that.

I’m so glad I bought an Xbox Series X. It’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever purchased. Hogwarts Legacy is great and Game Pass Ultimate is like the greatest thing to gaming I’ve ever seen. I even played some Fall Guys today through my Xbox.
