Hogwarts legacy has housing

The problem with WoW housing is that the team of people in charge of these things has never seemed to understand the concept of player housing in an RPG and what purposes it can serve.

The fact that garrisons were referred to as player housing (when they contained nothing akin to a “house”) and are still vehemently defended as a failed attempt at player housing…tells the full tale.

IF they do player housing in WoW, they need to bring in someone from a different game series who understands player housing, how to design it, and why people like it.

Last time they thought they were doing a player housing, we got a grind factory with no bed to sleep in, no customization options, and no ability to choose what we wanted to display in it.

I still use my garrison. I love garrisons. They weren’t player houses. They weren’t really even player house-adjacent. The closest thing to a player house we’ve ever had in WoW is the MoP farmhouse. Nobody ever mentions that farm when Blizzard is asked about player housing. Instead, they focus on garrisons or just brush it aside. It means they still don’t understand what player housing is on the team…and they’re not ready.

They need to hire someone from outside if it comes up again.

Watching part of the review, it looks very interesting.

Yes theres an insane housing system

Its in the room of requirement

You can customize every aspect and collect a bunch of appliances and decorations and then theres a pet menagerie, so far i have two areas i can customize/build a house or a sanctuary, a forest and a beach, and each can hold 12 magical beasts each

If you’re interested i can add a bunch of screenshots when i’m back at pc

(I’m level 30, 22hours played so far)

It’s pure heart from start to finish. I’m on my second playthrough in the hopes of getting the last two achievements I have left for 100%.

People love the Harry Potter universe and the game is well done. No one is buying Hogwarts Legacy to win a political argument. It’s an awesome game!

No no no.

If you REALLY need to play house just go to your garrison and invite your rp chummies to join you….

What difference does it make if someone has a house? Why do you care?

It’s so pretty!

Thanks for sharing

To be fair, Hogwart’s Legacy has wand casting animations that make WoW’s casting animations look like a Nintendo 64 game lol

Do people just ignore the fact Blizzard has said they are working on Player Housing, but it will take multiple expansions before they release it because of how in depth they want to make it?

Like, seriously, did that just get erased from people’s heads or something? Cause I swear we get a new housing thread every week despite confirmation it’s coming eventually.

And it’s usually the same people saying they don’t like Blizzard rushing out content, but want them to rush out housing.

Not erased.

That is programming resource being taken away from playable content like dungeons, raids, or the open world.

You can’t work on this housing stuff and still do everything else, their resource is finite. If resources were totally unconstrained there would not be an issue.

That is why I care.

I wondered why they didn’t expand on garrisons. Move them outside of SW and Org and make them fully customizable visually.

You know, this is easily googleable.

People that want housing pay the same $15 a month as anyone else.

… know what else is easy? To see I linked that article.

AKA, a real woman that does not like a man putting on a woman’s costume and telling them what to do. I think women spent enough time fighting the patriarchy, just to have to start over again.

It also has a broom mount whenever you want. Why is THAT not a thing, Blizzard?! I want year round broom mounts!
