Anybody else kinda just…meh? Over the changes. We have two things that are unlocked and we know they are locked behind some basically unobtainable time gaits and between those we can unlock…stamina…between the two big unlocks. What happened? All that time to get ready for this patch and that was all that was accomplished?

I tried to talk my friends into coming back and now, I am ashamed to say I have because if/when they log on, there is still almost nothing to do with one of the biggest patches ever released.

Have something to work towards? At least with the legion artifacts we could see what progress would give us and there were things to unlock between the big unlocks that actually felt meaningful. The new zones are fine. I just felt there would be more to this neck than what there was. Admittedly, I did not research extensively on the PTR as to what the big changes would be.

The Essence system is basically this. Have you actually taken your time to look into it? or research into it?

Personally, I don’t like stuffs that has nothing to do with my class aesthetic being tied to my abilities, but the system is quite similar.

Did you play legion? Because yes, in theory it is similar in the same way an anorexic person (BFA) and a my 600 pound life person (Legion) both have skeletons but there is way more to one than the other.

Well, tell me why you like one more than the other then?

In Legion you grind artifact power to unlock traits. In 8.2 you grind many things to unlock Essence (mostly rep). There are many ways for both kinds of grinding. Why do you feel like there’s nothing to do in 8.2 but not in Legion?

Did you play legion, though? Are you foggy on everything other than the grind? I don’t mind a grind. I do mind a grind that shows little to nothing from doing it.

Essences are cool but lmfao @ having no catchup mechanic to get to heart level 50 quickly.

So you dislike the Essence system because you don’t have a clear way to track your progress?

It will slow down fairly quick around 45ish, it starts really picking back up. Not as slow without but you can start feeling it dragging again.

The artifact knowledge levels for post-40 heart seems very insufficient.

No, there was more to look forward too. It basically gave you the same feelings as leveling with the old talent systems in classic. There was something unlocking every time you filled that bar up. Now? Fill it up several times and…nothing. There is no feeling of progress. BFA has felt like that this whole time to me, honestly.

I wish they’d just scrap the endless currency grind garbage. It was fun for like 2-3 weeks in Legion then I realized what it was and it turned into a soulcrushing grind. I hate it. Give me an actual goalpost that isn’t going to slide away when I get near it. It’s okay to finish things. I can play alts after.

The only thing BFA even got close to doing right…is making alts actually possible again. Legion made alts feel impossible to keep up. It really makes me wonder why these systems cannot be account wide. We never had to worry about this system before but now all of a sudden we must farm all this non sense on each character for 2 expansions? And they wonder why nobody wants to play this game anymore?

So your problem is not about having nothing to do, it’s about not feeling rewarded.

Well, what is there to do? I have went through both zones and other than just waiting for rare timers at this point, what is there to do?

I’m a bit confused so far - neither negative or positive mind you. My lock and this guy both got the same item. To damage an enemy or heal an ally. For a disc priest that’s perfect, I’m not quite sure a non-hybrid DPS would get that. It’s not bad so please don’t take this as a complaint, it’s just a bit confusing.

Probably the same as you’ve done in Legion? You grind artifact power in Legion right? Now the Level cap of the neck has been increased, you can start grinding for more azerite power?
