Who Are the Packtari?

The Packtari is raptari pack uniquely open to more than Trolls and Zandalari, or even horde aligned races. Formed and lead by Kholwa Brightmoon, the pack exists to protect and rehabilitate Gonk's children, aid any of the affiliated Loa and Wild Gods with aligning goals, and eliminate any forces deemed a threat to the balance. The pack achieves this in varying ways, and so non-combatants are always welcome and have their place. As of Dragonflight, the Packtari have their own Packlands that serves as a sanctuary for most people and creatures under their care.

Currently, ranks are broken up into four divisions within the guild structure:

  • Packmate- The role of those that join the pack and serve Gonk.
  • Pack’Kanta*- The Pack singers. Packmates with a heavy focus on a type of entertainment and/or performance. Their morale boosting is an important part of the Packtari, and need not be purely Loa related.
  • Pack’Nohwek- The Pack Artisans. Crafters are just as important as any role, and those that seek to ply their trade with the Loa’s blessing will be welcome.
  • Pack friend- Those that align with the Pack, but perhaps aren’t interested in devoting oneself to Gonk. Performing pack rites is one of the very few events that pack friends are excluded from, but they are welcome to take part in other rituals.

What to Expect

There is currently no attendance policy, and guild membership is not required. The Packtari is an inclusive space in roleplay and out of roleplay. In roleplay, the Packtari engages in the follow:
  1. Rites and Rituals, not limited to Gonk and the Loa.
  2. Missions that serve the balance and key allies.
  3. Casual gatherings and meetings
  4. Solo journaling/rp prompts and systems.
  5. Non-guild event participation and collabing. (performing/vendoring/wandering about)
  6. And, of course, our own stuff!

Non roleplay will be PvE/PvP grouping whenever it happens as it happens.

Why not troll exclusive?

Ultimately, I feel troll exclusive guilds have their place, but that the armistice and yet lasting peace in lore is an opportunity to involve and grow the Loa's followers, Gonk's especially, beyond trolls. I'm not one for treading out faction, or inter-troll society, conflict as a mainstay. The Packtari started as Kholwa's closest friends and loved ones, a neutral group, regardless of race or faction, so I intend to keep it open. Weird as it may seem to have troll focus.

*Pack singers uses Kanta over Tulak, as it is a shared word across languages. I’m filipino, it’s weird seeing tulak used the way it is, okay.

The Patron Loa, Gonk

The Lord of the Hunt, the Master of Shapes, Packstrider, and more. By Gonk’s will does the Packtari move and abide, protecting the balance of nature from those that would upend it. For what is a hunter that cares little for the nature that it strides through, that does not give life the respect it is due? Many misconstrue the laws of nature to be the strong vs the weak, an ironically weak belief. To know the laws of nature is to adapt and grow, to embody more than Gonk’s ferocity. For if Gonk prized strength above all, what need would he have for a pack and shapes? It is with this understanding that the packtari take on a conservationist role, not only for Gonk’s children but for all creatures within nature’s balance.

And it is with this understanding that packmates seek to embody the aspects of Gonk: The Shaper, The Shadow, and The Fangs.

Each one of these aspects serves as a rites track for packmates to pursue, alongside two other rites: The Pack, The Raptor’ai.

Raptors and Ravasaurs

Gonk’s kin play an integral part in The Packtari’s growth and goings on. The creation of the Packlands stemmed from a bargain to aid one of the Children of Gonk in finding and growing a new hatchling lands outside of Zuldazar. As the raptors and ravasaurs serve as the eyes and ears for the patron Loa, they too play this role for the Packtari when necessary. And so it is a part of the Packtari’s cause to upkeep and protect all raptors and ravasaurs in Azeroth, at times fostering and/or rehabilitating ones from lands in conflict. Or even working closely among them in the Dream.

Fostering raptors is not something to consider lightly, but available to any that prove responsible and respective of raptors and Gonk. Kholwa is often approachable for inquiry, and offers both a fostering and Cultural Creature Exchange program for those interested.

Nestled away between Arathi Highlands and the Hinterlands, the Packlands is a well protected valley turned sanctuary for creatures and refuge seeking peoples (within reason). Currently there are places for communing with varying Loa and elements, homes and a campgrounds, and several spaces to both relax among the denizens or conduct work as a crafter. The hatching lands is mainly occupied by the Gilded Mane ravasaurs, a ravasaur pack closely tied to The Packtari with a Child of Gonk as its matriarch.

Traders and crafters are welcome to visit (with the Packstrider’s mark of approval), and may find work requests posted about neutral and horde related cities/areas.

Current Campaign

While the Primalists have fizzled in the isles, their influence remains throughout Azeroth as a reminder of unseen dangers that threaten the world’s delicate peace. This is a multi-part campaign, where each branch for each location starts with investigations and grows from there. Not every mission or follow up requires or presents combat opportunities, so non-combatants are always welcome to sign up. Locations of interest:
  • Atal’Gral, Zuldazar
  • Ghostlands (Current campaign branch)
  • Zuldazar-Nazmir border
  • Silithus
  • Southern Barrens

Want to Get Involved?

The Packtari is currently seeking crafters and traders to bolster their provisions during this campaign, with work requests posted up in varying places. Any interested in making contributions may fill out the form below and mail it to Kholwa-Wyrmrest Accord.
