Feels really good, they go from unkillable to possibly killable. i think we see the issue here delete demon armor.

it should have never been buffed to the state it currently is in. they take less damage than freaking plate melee that im hitting. i would even go as far to say they take less damage than a war who is in defensive stance the entire game. and only reason i ever beat them is because i line the entire game wait for dampening to reach 75-80% then channel rapidfires though the pillar with trueshot to reduce the cooldown untill they fall over.
So you should beat them harder with no chance for them to win?
This is 2s and im abusing a gimick of waiting for insane dampening while running around a pillar only trinketing coil and feigh deathing fear/bolt casts while freedom and cheetah every root. you telling me having to stoop to this lvl of gameplay just to have a moderate chance because if i stand toe to toe with him in the open im going to get 2 shot is acceptable?
they could remove demon armor and destro would still be strong.

You getting 2 shot seems like a you problem. Try using your toolkit.
times change you know, right now if they hadn’t demon armor they would still be a very strong specc. just would be counterable by physical melee classes like they should.
and not be the uncounterable monsters they are now.

Side note, it was nerfed. Its 150% extra which i believe is between mail and plate.

Maybe against melees they would see darker light but that’s it. I don’t know what to tell ya but a cloth caster shouldn’t have somehow plate armor also let’s not forget the flat damage reduction locks are getting by their mastery+soul leech at the same time.
something of that needs removing and demon armor started the problems so either remove it or make it a really small side effect (from 150% armor to 50% for example)

Not all the time. Idiot destro locks have 2 shotted my partners and friends many times even after they have utilized every button in their toolkit to possibly survive or prevent their demise. They need to target and delete every haste buff that is associated with destro locks atm. Seeing a lock cast 1 sec bolts forces me to contemplate uninstalling this game permanently, but then thinking of Classic stops me from doing that.
This I agree. Locks were a subpar caster before demon armor, but once again you don’t see aff locks standing in the middle of the map like destros. So I think instead of targeting demon armor, they seriously need to remove or properly alleviate the amount of self heals destro receives (from whatever source).
Okay soooooo idk if you know this but defensively since the launch of this expansion nothing besides DA was given to locks for defense.
Before DA the spec was considered worse than Aff, and aff hasnt changed. So no… youre wrong. It would flop. I know it flops because ive forgot to pick it up.
That was largely because the CoS meta was really toxic, and all the melee lock could normally 2 shot for staying in LoS were running around in super broken gear. With that stuff gone, Destro is entirely to tanky where it doesn’t need to be.
Still would rather see baseline port / coil return, and locks curse of exhaustion again. Something that keeps them squishy and have to use utility more then just coil -> bolt, fear -> bolt, root -> bolt. It’s pretty toxic tbh.
I just dont like locks being tankier than plate with more health than tanks and more self healing than blood dks while doing more burst than a combusting fire mage on a 1 sec cast ability.
The one thing you are neglecting is that casters typically scale extremely well towards the mid-end of an expansion.
That means that as gear gets stronger you gain more passive damage reduction from higher mastery %, and the absorb you gain soul leech through damage-done is scaling WAYYY better then it did Season 1 and early Season 2.
Soul Leech mainly comes from the passive regen rate. Everyone else has had their damage go up too. If there was anpther viable option I’d agree. There’s not.
Yeah the passive stacking on its own is huge. It’s especially nice for locks (which is why demon armor seems stronger despite not changing) when your health pool is extremely high. The scaling bonus HP you get as lock coupled with mastery/soul leech/DA just makes it impossible for a melee to run out in the open and kill a lock without being punished for it.

Nothing can be changed without an entire toolkit rework though. And I don’t expect anything to change at this point.
I gets its frustrating to play against, but that doesnt make justify sweeping nerfs. There’s ways to win.
I dont enjoy war dk or war dh, or fdk dh, even though they can coordinate terribly and completely shut me out without even thinking.
