Hit rating question

Assuming I’m in gear with absolutely no hit rating, how much do I have as a Human (sword/mace) or Orc (axe)? 3%?

Is the answer different for PvP and PvE? I believe the difference between 300 and 305 is 3%, but is that only PvE where the target is level 63 vs 60 in PvP?

Same question, adding in weapons with +skill such as OEB. If you’re a Human with 313 sword skill and no other hit gear, what would your hit rating be?

Why would a Holy Paladin bother with hitting things? Your heals don’t miss.

Or are you trying to maximize your T1 8p bonus?

Asking in general, not specifically for Holy Paladins.

Every point of weapon skill adds 0.04% chance to hit. This is the only hit-related benefit that it gives in PVP.

In PVE, there is an added 3% miss chance if the target is at least 3 levels above you, which can be negated by having at least 305 weapon skill against a level 63 target. Other than that, it’s the same benefit as PVP.

(Note: This does not mean that +weapon skill is useless past 305. It also reduces your chance to get a glancing blow, which is huge for DPS output. This effect is not, however, related to hit chance.)

Someone asks a question, and the first thing you do is look at their class/spec?

At best, one can only assume that’s trolling.

PvP hit is 5%, 313 skill adds 0.52% hit

PvE Boss is 9%, your racial adds 3%, oeb then justs adds an extra 0.8% hit

*Reduces the damage penalty of glancing blows. They’ll still occur at the same rate and are not able to crit.

You are correct! Inaccurate phrasing on my part.
