In the past a GM item was used to insta kill a WF boss as well as a bug to keep Lich kings platforms up and was heavily exploited. They got their WF revoked and banned.
Can we please get a blue post on the current situation? Its happened yet again somehow and its unfair for true world first racers who somehow skipped from one early boss directly to last boss and killed him somehow. There’s no way they “accidentally” skipped the whole raid to him and killed him.

I find it fitting that the first kill of a Goblin raid boss was by cheaters/exploiters for some reason though.
They are just playing by little green gremlin rules. It should count.

Shouldn’t be imo. This would be the best way for the RWF to end for this particular patch and would cement it as the joke that it truly is.
The tears of people that care far too much about this silly thing would be delicious.

The kill has already been removed from the Hall of Fame and the guild doesn’t exist on the armory anymore

I wish Blizzard would take on FFXIV’s approach to cheating during races.
Oh, you cheated? We’re removing your titles/items/rewards, you’re all permabanned, you may not appeal, we’re releasing your names/characters publicly to show that you cheated - and we’re putting out a public statement that if cheating continues we’ll quit creating content for you to race over… and we mean it.

They would never lol. Blizzard has a hard time handing out more than suspensions for exploits but are happy to permaban for a spicy word.

Yeah, but the RWF isn’t official on FFXIV and you have to be caught red handed by your own idiocy of having visible plugins during stream or a mole. Which makes it all the more hilarious the last like 3+ RWFs have questions as to who the first is because the top always gets caught and one or two teams aren’t participating but still cleared.
I don’t really have any sympathy for anyone involved. Just play the game.
It is actually funny and surprise. RWF itself is horrible.
For it to be an actual race, it should at least be on a dedicated race/tournament server like MDI, so:
- Same weekly reset time for everyone worldwide
- Every guild/character has the same premade gear/ilevel (like MDI), so viewers don’t need to watch the meaningless split pushes/gear farming, and guilds don’t need to spend gold on gear trade or other exploits, etc.
- Forbid raid test on PTR, so there is real excitement and surprise factor in the race
Current RWF is just bunch of pros that doing spilt pushes, wiping hundreds of times on the same time, while doing their tactics since PTR. It is a waste of time and more boring than watching world quests.

You know they run split raids, right? Where they funnel gear to specific players. Blizz isn’t giving them anything, they’re just playing at more organized level than most.
That tin foil hat is so tight that it’s cutting off the circulation to your brain.
It’s not blizzard, they ran the raid multiple times over with multiple different characters distributing all the loot at the end to create the most geared characters possible to funnel into mythic runs.
Race to world first is a largely a pseudo-professional affair. The players in top end guilds are paid in dollars to put forth this much effort maxing vaults on multiple different characters, split runs, endless m+ grinding, the whole shebang.
RWF gets cheated and rolled back…
Hardcore gets absolutely slaughtered by a malicious attack “apparently,” and gets a… Welcome to hardcore.

They literally give you a warning for Hardcore that if you lose your character for whatever reason, that’s it. Losing your character because of server issues is 100% part of that risk.
