History Doesn't Repeat Itself, but it Often Rhymes

Over time Blizzard introduced many changes to WoW that people didn’t like. A lot of those changes relate to the excessive commercialisation of the gameplay . As a result many people left the game.

So to bring people back Blizzard in 2019 introduced World of Warcraft Classic and designed it to be true to the origins of World of Warcraft.

But as we’re starting to see Blizzard can’t help themselves and are repeating the mistakes of the past. (or being forced to repeat mistakes of the past).

Which begs the question: In 10 or so years time to rectify these makes will there be a push by players to have a “Classic World of Warcraft Classic”? Or would it be called “World of Warcraft Classic Classic”? Where the 2019 version of vanilla World of Warcraft is recreated …

bro you cant play in classic forever. Its gonna die like a white dwarf star. Slowly burn out till its cold and alone.

I guess people dont see that until they get bored of no updates to classic and no players to play with. They should of progressed all realms to TBC and only retain a single realm to classic and give people options to transfer to it or out of it for a certain time period.

3 months in and you will see the population lacking in classic because the population all flocked to TBC.

I do not know a single person who left for those reasons, it is certainly not why I left back then.

If anything it was the way they introduced expansions (by obsoleting all previous content), and how Arenas changed the focus from a war to little pro-sport like skirmishes ( just dumb and nonsensical with ridiculous rewards). They stopped caring about a persistent WORLD and transitioned to a lobby style game, making a huge world feel small. Then couple terrible story telling to bad game mechanics and you have the current state of the game ala retail.

This is where you are wrong. There are two kinds of players - ones that follow Blizzard’s content path through the game, and those who view Azeroth as a sandbox and create their own play (style, accomplishments, pace).

For many of us - and there are a lot more than you realize - we can indeed play classic forever.

Blizzard can’t help themselves. They forever think they must change the game. The reason is always to meet a demand from that first kind of player. That stupid world buff thing they added recently is such an example.

The second type of player wants no changes at all.

I mean makes no sense, considering classic only realms will exist as of Tuesday lol.

OP to answer your question they are doing the Classic Era so they can’t really rerelease anymore outside of fresh/seasonal servers. I can’t tell if your post is serious or created to make a joke on the name which if so is cute.

From your previous posts, you quit Classic early and at the drop of a hat. You’ll probably quit TBCC within 4 months. You’re what I call a fly-by-night player. A flakey player is another name for it. You’ll never understand people who stick around because you aren’t one of them. Don’t bother to speak for people who aren’t flakey as if you know what you’re talking about because you don’t.

They promised no changes.

Then they added connected realms and let players play multiple factions together through connected realms.

It’s like those people who run these decisions can’t help themselves trying to **** everything up constantly.

I think doing the realm connections up front before they know how many people are staying back or cloning is putting the cart before the horse.

I think they ought to try to tailor their response to actual conditions rather than prescribing a fix before they know where it hurts.

“No King rules forever”

That is simply false.
EVERY change that Blizzard made was disliked by SOME players.
EVERY change that Blizzard made was like by SOME players.

That is false too. That is your imagination.

People leave EVERY game, for reasons that are NOT about the contents of the game. People get married. People have kids. People change jobs. Military people get sent overseas. Mostly, people get tired of a game (any game) and switch to a different game.

Classics life cycle should end in wrath.

Destined to star again fresh.

That’s what? A 6 year cycle?
