hey does anyone know if fishing for strange goop to start quest line for Hirukon mount, does the 1500 = or - cast are required all in one go or can it be done over a few days /
It’s RNG. Some people fished it up in 30, some 4500.
Can always buy the goop at least if you really really want him.

do you know what the lure is called
some servers is 300k for lure. i got lucky fished mine up around cast 30 on day one to prove some guy wrong said no one would get mount until 3 weeks later lol. im chilling there with mount day one help alot get their too

Sorry I meant buy the goop, the lure is part of the quest still.

I did it over a few days when I felt like it. Took me around 2.1k casts.

My first goop took me (roughly) 4 hours total of fishing fishing in half hour increments.
Second one dropped in 7 minutes being out there fishing (had a bait on so I saw the time). It’s RNG per cast.
That’s such a mic drop moment. Way to assert your dominance

Had a bnet buddy get it on his second cast after arguing he doesnt like fishing and didnt want to join our group.

800 or so casts for me over three days. It’s all just chance like everything else

I got my strange goop off the AH for 170k. A good price for such a gorgeous mount. All the other items fished up on the first cast. It didn’t take very long to fill a 40-man raid group to kill Hirukon. You can get dazed off the Deepstar Polyp, but that won’t mater in 8 days when we can fly in ZM.
I fished up two goops in 2000 casts.
I needed two because the first one glitched, and despite looting it it never appeared in my inventory. Put a ticket in, and got a response similar to:
“Oh yeah we’re aware of that bug, it’s being reported a fair bit now. We can’t give you your goop back though so you’ll have to either buy it or fish it up again”.
I’m nearing 5k casts and still no Goop. So while some people are literally bathing in it, some (like me 
) are extremely unlucky.

I have been fishing for a total of 9 hours and still no goop and definitely don’t have enough gold to buy it. Feel like im never gonna get this mount!
It took me around 15 hours to fish it up.
I hope I can get it before 15 hours of fishing🥴
You just gotta channel your inner Crendor and enjoy the fishing ride you’re on. Get some fishies, sell them fishies.

I capped my shadowlands fishing in my quest for goop.
Yea I did that within the first hour or 2 I think lol I’m going on 14 hours now. SMH starting to thinking I’m never getting this mount
