Hiring People To Clear Molten Core Trash?

LF19M Molten Core trash farm. All loot reserved. Paying 400g for 3 hours of farming pst. Would this be viable? Raid leader pays 7600 in gold to the other 19 players and keeps 15,000 gold in drops? Making the raid leader a profit of 7400 for 3 hours of his time. Would you join a MC trash farm group paying 400g for 3 hours?

How are you getting 7600 gold to fund this?

We used to do something like that, though not with quite the price, for rep farming.

All greens were needed, all Epics were on reserve, and no money changed hands.

Actually, probably yes. As a player who never progressed far into MC, I’d consider it training for actual later runs. You’d be paying for my tuition, so I’m game.

What?

You need to understand how much 400g is in Classic, which you obviously don’t.

404 this dumb thread.

15,000 gold in drops? Nobody going to be paying 15k for molten core mats in the auction…

lava/firey cores sold for 150g plus each in vanilla. average trash clear drops 23 of them not including boe epic drops greens/blues.

100% yes I would do this, 400g for a night’s gaming? Yes, please. Do you pay me upfront, after, half-and-half? How does that work?

So are you not paying your cronies for their time until AFTER you sell your loot that you get? Because if you’re paying me 400g for 3 hours of trash farming upfront, frick yes I’m game. But if I have to wait days for you to make good on your debt, and hope you don’t flake or screw me over, then it’s a hard pass.

P.S… I don’t think I’ve ever heard of anyone farming 15,000g from a single MC trash run.

P.P.S… They sold for such a high amount in vanilla because the majority of guilds clearing MC would store them in their bank and hand them to guildies as needed for crafting raid gear. Not many people sold them on the regular. if you did manage to pull it off once, the number of fiery cores you’d be dumping on the AH on a regular basis would trash their value and in turn would devalue your next run

Payment would be 100g up front 300g after the 3 hours of farming. You would push to full clear trash 3 times. I think the current amount of gold farming strats will inflate prices beyond what they were in vanilla. Basically if you can borrow the gold from friends/guild to fund this you can make a killing. That or try to work out a deal paying people with drop items worth 400g plus. i think just paying in gold is cleaner.

You arent getting 15000 gold in drops from mc trash. Hell all the loot in mc isnt worth 15000 gold if you sold a full clear.

How on earth will it take you three hours to clear mc trash?..

This is a good point. If a significant number of people started doing this, supply on AH would jump and prices would drop. Few guilds sold drops from MC until they were probably in AQ. The mats were used for FR gear. The BoE’s were typically saved in case a new recruit needed them later. They were valuable because it was rare to find them on AH.

20 randoms? Yeah, it’d be slow, and there would be some wipes.

It wouldn’t be 3 hours for 1 MC trash clear. You would reset the Instance after you fully cleared the MC trash.

Not sure if serious.

Depends upon how many wipes. We’re talking about 20 randoms here. Raid is half the intended size, DPS would be light, and you’d likely be carrying several bads, with few, if any epic-geared, experienced players to offset that. It would be rough.
