Highmountain Invasion Scenario Bugged

Not sure if this cropped up in Legion, but since BfA dropped every single time I’ve tried to complete the Highmountain Legion Invasion scenario, after being airdropped in by the eagles right at the start, I have become stuck running in place in the air unable to do anything.

/reset does not work, I cannot teleport out and back in because “you can’t do that whilst running or falling”. I can use all my abilities, but only the ones I can cast whilst running. So far the only way I’ve found to complete the scenario is to have understanding party members who complete it without me, as I do still get credit for the objectives even if I’m not able to participate. This has happened to me 3 times now, and has seen me having to wait out the deserter buff if I get kicked due to people thinking I’m afk.

Perhaps a priest would be able to life grip me out, but I am yet to get into the scenario unbugged whilst playing my priest and haven’t queued in with one to test this out. A druid might also be able to wild flight themselves out, but mages cannot blink out of it. It just zips them across the platform and leaves them hanging in the air.

Please fix this Blizz :frowning:

This has been bugged for over a month now and there’s been no response. I’ve tried it at least 6-7 times on my warlock and it bugs every single time.

This is getting SUPER frustrating as I’m doing these for the transmog weapons and can’t loot the boss since i can’t participate…

still bugged. i got lucky and the last group i got did it all so i could get credit…as i just floated in the air. guess this is how it will work for some of us now since i see bug reports from earlier this year.

This has happened to my character. It’s frustrating. Ice block didn’t clear it. Blinking lets me move but that’s all. I can cast limited things (non-movement required things) but I’m still moving in place unable to do much else. I hope they fix this soon. I’d like to be able to finish this one when it comes up again.

For anyone hoping to find a solution here, so far you won’t. I tried everything. I jumped on one of the other people’s two-seater mount and it did nothing to help. As soon as you jump off of it you just become stuck to the ground. Heroic leap for warriors don’t work, nothing. Even if you managed to somehow move from this stuck position you will just become stuck the exact same way but on the ground.

dont worry they will fix this in like 4 patches they are too busy worrying about making it so 110+ cant turn off their xp

this is still bugged; tried on night elf rogue and lightforged draeni paladin guildie both stuck on dismount.

please fix this. I just want to be able to have a class mount.

I am having the same issues as of today. I came here in hopes i’d find a solution, but alas. I’ve been trying to do this invasion for about 2 hours now. I was looking forward to completing things I left behind in Legion, but I guess i’ll wait until the next invasion at this point. I tried everything from using a mage port out and tele in, mounting on a 2 seater mount (not tall enough, might work with the 5 mil bronto?) toys, alt+f4, dueling, life grip, and nothing.

Hopefully they will fix this, because it’s really frustrating. Especially since there are bugs in BFA invasions as well. Do they even care anymore? Might sound melodramatic, but i’m used to old school Blizzard customer service, and diligence in fixing problems. Having a random GM encounter in arathi highlands, and dancing with a male NE with fly robes.

Can confirm having the same issue, my character has 8 minutes left on the deserter debuff, so it happened shortly before 22 minutes ago. Tried to restart the game, didn’t help get unstuck.

I did not try the “Teleport to Graveyard” option, don’t know if that might’ve worked while the character was “falling”.

Edit: It happened again, and “Teleport to Graveyard” could not be used.

still bugged, Jan 29 2018.

submitted a bug report

stuck on auto run, 15ish feet of the base of the landing platform, just after you fly in on the eagle.

3 party group, two of us were stuck in mid air,

/reload UI does not work
leave party kicks you out and 30 min deserter buff
restart client, kicks you out and 30 min deserter buff
character unstuck, hearthstone, can not use while character is in motion
teleport to graveyard, can not use while character is in motion

good luck to getting your mounts, going to try a different invasion tommorrow

This is still happening to me as well, I haven’t been able to complete this scenario in well more than a month and even if you let the rest of the group finish it you get no loot. And let’s face it, half of us are just here for transmogs. So far as I can tell Blizzard hasn’t commented on this anywhere I can find. I’ve submitted SEVERAL bug reports on this, every time it happens. It’s so frustrating.

There’s a sort of fix for this that someone showed me. If you’ve got some sort of instant move ability like blink or the rogue grappling hook, you can head across the NE bridge and towards the start of the next bridge to the N from there, eventually you can mount up. Then just head north, follow that region to the west where the eagles show up. Assuming you don’t get kicked.

Okay, now I feel better, though it’s not good it’s still bugged. Zoned into a scenario, after the first part (clearing out the upper area), the other two people said “It’s up to you, Pencilcup!” Although easily soloable at 120, I was getting irritated only seeing their dots up top, not moving. One said “We’re just tossing around the pigskin!” and I thought that was The Thing To Do Now, let one person finish while the others sat on their thumbs. They spoke to each other in Spanish, and tossing it into Google translate, they could only use toys. While it sucks it’s still bugged, I feel better knowing I wasn’t carrying a couple of slackers. I hope they got the completion for it.

This is still bugged. Does Blizzard even look at these forums? This is dumb beyond words. They probably fired the people that could fix it.

This has happened to me previously, but it happened tonight 4 times on the same character. A group I was in finally carried me so I got credit, but I can’t get out of here. I kill the game, come back, and an eagle is flying me again to that spot. Can’t hearth or unstick because I’m “moving”, although I’m not.

I need to play this character. This is way beyond irresponsible to paying customers.

And I got out of there by getting summoned to a summoning stone by friends who were in the battle in Tol Barad. Probably if you can get the other 2 group members to go to the entrance to NL you can get summoned there, if you’re the only one stuck.

wow, in 2020 its STILL bugging. oh, and it now gives you a deserter debuff and mutes you from all public chat channels if you leave the group. thanks blizz.

This is still going on. Happened to me yesterday. Tried two groups. In the first, another party member left first, then I left (and got the 30 minute deserter debuff). Tried again in a second group, once debuff had worn off, and she bugged out again.

Whoops. So okay, this is still a thing as of Feb 2022. If your party kills the downstairs boss too fast and Maya won’t walk, it’s fine because you still have the first part. Teleport out, wait until you are removed from group, abandon quest and go back to Skyhorn to pick it back up. You’ll requeue and start over from where you left off. Just WARN the other 2 people not to attack that guy until he attacks first. Most of them will thank you for it.
