I just want to say how much I love threads like these. How they show, given options, people might slightly favor one thing or another, but there generally never is a completely unilateral agreement on “what’s best.”
People like different things.
I especially love when people say “oh the widget has this … thing… that’s so TERRIBLE! I hate it so much!!”
And then next person says “oh wow, really?! That’s what I LOVE about it so much!!”

Hey now you leave my crack raptor alone! I love that thing and am trying to unlock all the customizations for it. I really want the pterodactyl beak for it but just doesn’t want to drop from the racing bags. I think things will be better once people start unlocking the options buried at 15&22 in the reputations.
Id rather have all my old dragons/drakes/proto-drakes to use

Highland drake for distance, velocidrake for races. But for me, its because the highland is the closest ‘dragon’ mount
#TeamWylderdrake all the way.
(at least until we get the Slitherdrake because its pretty)
Unlocking a lot of these customizations is way more annoying than it should be though, I’ve killed all the elites that drop the black horns every day basically since launch and still nothing. And having Scale colour tied to rep is also BS.
I still use the original proto-drake you get.
I use the smaller one to get around too, I just find it easier and less clunky.
The bronze one goes better with my current outfit.
