My son likes to do all the per battles that he can and he’s emased a large sum of polished charms… neighborhood of 8k he’s earned and has saved.
I know there’s alot of variables such as realms and faction, but any certain purchaseable pets sell for a pretty penny ?
“That you know of”
Not any longer, sorry.
I’ve made millions this expansion selling pets, mostly having 50 to a hundred pets up each weekend on each of a bunch of different realms. Even when sales were good I’d post 50 leveled pets, (leveled ones are much more likely to sell,) and only 2 or 3 would sell.
Now I’m selling them cheaper than ever, and mostly I get them all back unsold. Same with mogs, gear, flasks, gems and mats. Players are just not buying. This commonly happens at this late stage of an expansion but it seems to me to be worse than ever this year, with player numbers in the realms I play on dropping badly and many of the ones left wanting to raise gold for the disappearing brutosaur mount.
Pets haven’t really sold well this expansion for me…reason I think is player base isn’t making the tons of gold of mission tables like we did in WoD and Legion…so they spend less now.
I’d concur and say it’s a number approaching zero.
Best thing to do is make sure he has the portals and toys. After that, there’s no real reason to buy any pets. Most collectors already have them. That is the type of player most likely to spend a pretty penny on a pet.
You can sort through your realm’s AH and see if any of those pets aren’t for sale. But I wouldn’t expect a windfall at this point. Best time to make money on pets is when they first come out - beginning of an xpac or patch.
I’d keep your powder dry unless they announce a currency change. You are more likely to make money at the start of the next xpac.
Such things are very server dependent. I find my best sellers are the pets that take a little extra work to even be able to buy, like Child of Jani, and Seabreeze Bumblebee. The bees sold very well on my Alliance-heavy servers right after the bumblebee mount went in (having the bee pet lets you skip a tedious step) but that has pretty much quieted down now.
One thing to note is that the big cost pets like Lil Benfon aren’t really a good deal. They typically only sell for quite a bit less “gold per charm” than the cheaper ones like the Zandalari Shinchomper. Although of course, it takes more sales to make the same gold on the smaller cost pets. All of these are fairly standard commerce issues.
