Just curious what the community thinks the class with the highest skillcap is for Classic. Mostly for PvP since I hear PvE is mostly spamming 3 or less buttons
For pvp⦠Mage and Hunter.
Hunter might require more effort but the tools at a Mageās disposal can be amaze-balls if used right⦠which requires quick timing.
PvE depends on the spec - a Mage will always be easy, but something like a Feral Druid or even a Hunter will have a much higher skill ceiling. In order to do competitive DPS (not as much as a Mage, Warrior, or Rogue though) a Feral has to power shift and farm MCPās to compete. For a Hunter, you have to play around your auto shot, your Multi-Shot and Aimed Shot cooldown, and even run into melee for one or two swings with Raptor Strike for maximum damage.
Just because you donāt press 10 buttons doesnāt mean itās not complex.
For PvP, Rogue can have a high skill ceiling, but arguably Warlocks and Hunters require the most knowledge and skill to pull off.
Hunter or lock. Druid is a close 3rd. Hunter has to deal with dead Zone. Lock has so many different play styles, and druid pretty much kites you and out survives you.
After watching many long time vanilla veterans like Perplexity, I would argue Mage, lock and rogue.
Should be an interesting thread⦠I would love to know from some vanilla vets which classes they think have high skill-caps in PvP and PvE.
everyone except paladin
Warrior and Hybrid Druid PvP is a carpal tunnel tier
Iād say itās a three way tie between Mage, Rogue, and Hunter.
Spriest and Rogue. Weāve all seen the stunlock videos.
I remember watching spriest videos all day long. Itās a freaking art. The 1v1s against spreist made them look like literal gods weaving all sorts of crazy stuff together.
What do people mean by shadow weaving? And I was under the impression it was proc based to stunlock on spriest, not skillcap. Is that wrong?
I would say exploting hunter death zone.
Youll find most of the āskillā is something rng based like blackout/impact stuns and windfurry procs. Shatter crits are barely more than 50/50, etc.
Or heavy use of consumables and engineering.
either the warlock or the hunter(probably hunter) has the highest skillcap, due to having a pet
though, some may argue that druids have a higher skillcap due to their forms, but weāre just talking about the maximum skillcap; maneuvering your pet perfectly at all times while perfectly timing its non-autocast abilities AND perfectly playing the warlock or hunter at the same time is pretty hard
I forget the vid but it was a classic mage fighting 3 people at once LUL
Vurtne fought four at once in one clip, if thatās who you mean.
I donāt know, man. I remember using more than three buttons in vanilla as a Druid. Even as a Rogue on the Classic beta test, Iām using more than 2-3 buttons⦠My options are somewhat limited by my current level, however. Just interrupting a cast on Druids requires at least three button pressesā¦
Yeah. Couldnāt remember if it was 3 or 4. I just knew it was more than 2.
Hunter without a doubt has the highest.
Paladin without a doubt has the lowest.
But if you love a class, that cap comes down and if you hate it then it goes up.
I donāt know but somehow I doubt its shadow priest
