Agreed, if it really was a problem then millions of players would be flooding here with complaints. Definitely routing issues, as I have had exactly the same issue many years ago before we had Australian servers. As soon as I changed to a company that was typically used by gamers my latency and lag issues were resolved.
Who knew suggesting a VPN, working troubleshooting steps, and letting you know about Blizzardâs current connection troubleshooting policies would encourage such a cringe reply? No good deed, I guess.
Whatâs concerning is that you havenât followed the names of the people responding to you. A different MVP said they didnât know how you were running tests, but youâre responding to me about it. Iâve solved thousands of technical issues across several Blizzard game title forums â and that is how I became a Tech MVP.
Iâm not confused as to how someone would acquire an IP to test, but I also know that all of the Blizzard servers mitigate ICMP traffic as a DDoS protection mechanism, and running tests to them wonât be fruitful.
Additionally, others are correctly letting you know that where IPs are registered vs where they are connecting can be different things.
Iâm not alone in thinking this is a problem in your ISPâs routing. Your unwillingness to accept anything other than âitâs Blizzardâs faultâ and trying to flame me are the issues here.
Check my post here in Tech Supp. Dynamic IP in Win settings will solve your problem.
