My DK is around 1950 rn and literally nobody uses their defensives at all. The amount of times I’ve seen people die with ice block up, turtle up, life swap, barrier at the 1900+ rating is literally insane. I’ve seen better players at unranked. What’s up?

because it’s the third week and humans r humans and 1900 doesn’t mean ur a high or low rated player it means ur at 1900

If you’re at 1900 you should 100% know better than to not use defensives. That isn’t an excuse
what if i hadn’t played all week and just now when im in your lobby i qued up while smoking a bowl and started talking to my friend but my ADHD is splitting my thoughts around and at the time when i should have used a cd i was wondering why the other person didn’t use a cd and then i die .

This is gonna sound crazy, but some people actually play the game properly, which means a defensive trade order.
Not saying this is the case all the time, obviously, but there are better to trade CDs most of the time than major ones, and people do actually expect htem to be pressed first if they’re aware of how CD rotations work.
Had a similar experience lately , it’s due to the mmr cap in shuffle.
Picture this, top players hit the top of the mmr cap (2.1-2.2 right now) and stop playing cause no incentive.
Then you have average players push up to 1800 due to the gap in activity on the top end, these players are experiencing a temporary inflation in the middle range due to the absence of the top end matches.
Then these matches need healers, where do you get them from? Since the brackets are so squished now it will pull a healer from a much lower range and elevate it to your mmr to fill the gap.
The overall game ends up with low xp healers on both sides who dont know how to play or use cds , with several mid range dps who were pseudo inflated to your mmr range , it feels like you’re playing with clowns that have no coordination or sense because that’s exactly what is happening.
The worst part about this is if you’re trying to push an alt or ur other specs up to the top but encounter these teams, it’s a massive struggle and frustration as games that should’ve been won are lost because the healer forgot to use a cd or is saving their PS charges for the next match, or is positioned in the worst possible place los’ing you, or pulling u to their horrible position… ergo the entire issue stems from the mmr cap.
If there’s nowhere for good players to go then you’re bound to encounter these cases.

At lower rankings players don’t use defensives at all, or the contrary - use all defensives the moment you just look at them.
At higher ratings players tend to greed more and make more risk plays, and sometimes this backfires.

Divine shield is on the gcd and ret has low haste like 8% without crusude so one gcd is more than enough to die.
I’ve seen good ret pallies hold shield for so long they clearly had greatly misplaced trust in my healing ability.
But it usually worked out. They always somehow live at 10% for awhile without divine shielding and we turn it around.

If you use your big CDs on a ret, and they manage to stay alive with the shield and wall, and don’t use bubble, this can definitely swing the momentum of the game as they can play very aggressively afterwards and win
They are greedy. It’s aggravating, but better players notice their life is in danger better because they made all these mistakes already.

Listen gang. All I’m saying is, I have seen deaths that MAKE sense in lower rated more than I do in high rating lobbies. If someone dies with zero CDs left, fair point. But I have seen so many people die with turtle, dome, bubble, PS, link, swap at high rating, that its noticable.
I am almost always baked out of my mind when qing up is whats up brother.

Yeah commiting everything to a Ret and not getting bubble/bop/spellwarding is bad juju
