High World or Home Latency Issue

Been having some random lag on (home) MS or (world) MS but usually not both at the same time, usually. I have tried everything from updating drivers, updating windows, rebooting router, disabling ALL addons, and nothing seems to help for a long while. Rebooting my internet seems to help for a little bit but always comes back.

This problem has only been happening this week, I believe. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do play on hyjal and I am sure that’s a west server so I ran this tool with the west server. (Hope I did this correctly)

Thanks ahead of time everyone.

I seem to have this problem as well, mine seems to spike up real high while in the middle of a dungeon and when i’m not in one it still does it at times.

So tests like yours always throw me off a bit on the packet loss end of things, but it looks like your connection to your router is pretty poor.

Are you hardwired or wifi? Can you test by hardwiring to it?

I am reporting the same issue, getting high latency that is abnormal for me. Ran WInMTR and between me and Blizzard there appears to be 3 to 4 dead hosts.

The other night in the middle of raid, everything seemed fine, except on a Boss like Raz that needs a Lot of movement. It didn’t look like like, but I was clearly sending the server commands (like /cast Ghost wolf ) but the server simply ignored that spell and let me go on my merry way walking like a turtle. (I like turtles by the way). As if the clients clock was out of sync with the servers game, behind about one GCD at times.

This has been happening more and more, but it has become an unpredictable crescendo. Good nights I am low sub 29ms on the worst nights it can vary all the way up to 200. Nothing wrong on my end of the network, after exiting Verizon’s fiber network traffic seems to head straight to a dead hop, then right before entering your network, two maybe 3 dead hops.

By the time the packets make it to your network then back to me, it is an eternity.

Got even worst doing a few final mythic runs before reset.

I am hardwired already.

if you’re hardwired then there’s an issue between your computer and router. you might try updating the drivers for your network card, or using a different ethernet cable. you could also try hardwiring directly to the modem if the router can be bypassed and seeing if that fixes it.

Its a router/modem combo and as far as I know my drivers are the most updated, according to my motherboards website, from 2018 or 2022.
