Hey guys just did a heroic raid and did pretty good I’d say. Just wanted to know why high tide is good. I read the tooltip and it says it will proc every 40k mana spent. How is that even good if it only procs like 5 times an encounter. Maybe I’m reading it wrong but wellspring just works so much better imo.
Thanks for reading
Resto shaman have a lot of passive regen because of criticals restoring mana, so you’d be surprised how much mana we actually spend even though our bar is kept healthy.
High Tide procs a lot, even during down moments of refreshing Healing Rain and only using Riptide and Healing Wave. The reason why I think High Tide is the better option is because it’s more versatile. Wellspring is only useful if you can make use of it every 20 seconds. High Tide is useful because you can save it and fish for procs when you need to burst heal, or you can just let it be a passive boost to your sustained healing.
Get a weak aura to track it, you’ll love it. With good planning, you can actually use 4 high Tide procs in a row. Combine this with Cloudburst Totem and you pretty much have a ghetto tranquility it’s amazing.
It procs from mana used on dmg as well. So keeping FS up and using LvB and the occasional LB actually feeds it.
The Chain Heals you cast during it do count towards the next 40K mana spent. I was a big fan of Wellspring, but after trying a High Tide and finding the tooltip a bit misleading about how often it procs, and how well it synergizes with CBT, well, RIP Wellspring.
I had a similar issue upon reading the tooltip. Didn’t think it was worth it. I was Wrong. Spec into high tide and get a weak aura to track it. It procs A LOT and it’s huge burst healing. Wellspring is still viable in some situations though!
Ever since they changed it to what it is now it is my go to spell for healing for raiding and mythic +
don’t listen to this guy… he has no clue!
hey ametus. =P
