Youre not good, your trash. You dont have skill, you lack skill. Stop camping low level’s and fight people that it takes skill to play against.
A story as old as this game.
At least now phases alleviate it a lot.
Sounds like you should play on a pve server if you can’t handle pvp.
They don’t need lives, they can take yours.
On topic, yeah getting ganked sucks, and I agree that camping lowbies is lame… however… the world feels alive and dangerous because of their degeneracy, and hypothetically speaking, it would encourage wpvp to occur on a larger scale, because reinforcements could be called in.
That said, the “meta” has shifted since OG vanilla… and no one cares enough to go chase down random rogue #103295509 ganking lowbies open world, especially when the person who’s getting camped could easily just layer hop and level in peace.
In OG vanilla we used to have a saying POAPS (Pvp On A Pvp Server)… You literally signed up for this, and if anything you should thank him for giving you what you wanted.
The saying still stands. Sounds to me like PvP happened on a PvP server.
I liked playing on PvP servers even when i was the one getting camped.
When i came back, i wanted to strictly focus on PvE; so i went on a PvE server to enjoy the game at the PvE level.
Edit: @OP, I do agree, it is silly for a level 60 to camp the same lowbie for hours. But that is the nature of PvP servers. There are honorable combatants and degenerate ones. It won’t change.
Being ganked by a much higher level sucks. Kill that high level ganker and saving the lowbies in the zone? Priceless.
5 bucks says these are the same kind of dudes who run their mouth in AV to Dreamscythe players because they play on a PvE server. We all know what kind of “world PvP” you really do, hotshots
The fun part comes when after you kill them, they bring one or more friends. That are invariably just as trash as they are and will blow massive CDs just to lose a 1v2.
I cant count the number of people Ive killed 1v2 at Hillsbrad Fields because they thought theyd come pick off some lowbies. Like how am i gonna see Reck and Prep in the same fight and still pack up both of you? Embarrassing behavior.
i pick PvE. “that” group of players is powerless against me.
I did a PvE server for SoD for the first time and it was…a let down.
To be clear, I rarely if ever go out of my way to even engage opposing faction players in general, because wpvp is largely a waste of my time… but THE WORLD itself loses something critical without the threat of opposing faction players. STV on a PvP server feels like a dangerous jungle where there could always be some dangerous animal (the opposing faction) waiting to pounce… STV on a PvE server felt like the jungle themed section of a disney ride. There was no threat, no stakes, and the world felt flat as a result.
After vanilla this hardly matters because flying mounts make any wpvp entirely degenerate to being with, and by wrath or later servers inevitably devolve into single faction experiences. Even when “Warmode” was introduced, specific I think it was called “shards” (basically layers but not realm wide) where basically just getting camped by a single faction, with the other faction controlling a different one. I’d add wpvp class balance really really nosedives in later xpacs too.
pull two troll shamans at the gurubashi ruins if you want danger.
You cannot “layerhop” on nightslayer at least, not anymore. There are rogues on every layer waiting for you
Someone link “Cranius - Im Gonna Get My Main” video
Ganking is annoying but can create some fun competition if you get them back on a main (if you have one)
Camping lowbies on the other hand is degenerate
Warning!
Welcome to the World of Warcraft! As you prepare to enter this realm, please be aware that you are joining a PvP (Player vs Player) realm. This means, in addition to the challenges of the world itself, you will also face the constant threat of combat with other players.
PvP combat is a core part of this realm, and players from the opposing faction may attack you without warning and with no sense of honor in contested areas. Be prepared for skirmishes and potentially lopsided battles as you explore the world, whether during quests, gathering resources, or traveling between locations. For example, the player you killed in Un’Goro while fighting over Devilsaur might hold a grudge, and now their guild is waiting for yours on the path through Blackrock Mountain for raid night in Molten Core.
If you’re not looking for this level of conflict, we recommend choosing a Normal (non-PvP) realm instead, where player combat is restricted.
Game Masters do not intervene in PvP conflicts, and it is not possible to transfers your characters between PvP and Normal realms. You have been warned!
You agreed.
If only they gave you a warning before rolling on a PVP server… /s
Nothing to do in anni servers now, so best to sit in low level with my rank 14 gear and 1 button everyone
Look at all you guys coming in here trying to shame the OP, telling them they should have played on a PvE server.
When I read their post I don’t see any complaint. Just a public service announcement kindly informing some individuals that they lack skill, along with some advice for how they can grow in their abilities.
Folks on these forums sure do like to jump to conclusions!
Not my trash.
1 shotting lowbies sounds boring. I prefer to gank naxx geared players in winterspring. Sometimes they get so mad they call in like 10 people to chase me off their grinding spot. Good times.
What I do here too. Wow WPVP is a stacked deck to the hunter (in the general sense, not class lol). The prey gets kind of screwed over.
Now I do “wpvp” in games like eve. The difference there is you can make a game of it there. The hunter has to actively work to find their prey there.
I can bounce celestials, probe and scan quite well. I see 5 snuffed out…I don’t make it habit to fly into them. That would not end well. I’ll play cat and mouse or just leave.
Now Some 0.0 spam recruited crews, their peeps couldn’t find their own butts with a map and geotag to it lol.
