High Latency

I dunno. It just started happening.

You are experiencing packet loss starting at your very first connection. Try power cycling your modem/router and then test again.

Yeah, your router modem might need replacing as you are experiencing packet loss straight from the start.

Ok thanks my dude. I am so bad at this stuff lol

I wouldn’t replace anything, but I would suggest looking at your Ethernet / Wireless configuration. This is a very common problem, and I wrote a guide on it using reference material available to anyone:

https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/windows-security/one-button-network-adapter-configuration-scripts/m-p/3261978/highlight/true#M826

Read this one section at the bottom of that guide, and edit the scripts to match the current setup you have:

3.22.1.2 Optimization for Specific Usage Models (PG# 42/168 - Adapter_User_Guide.pdf)

1.) Optimize For: Quick response and low latency

3.) Optimization Tasks:
3A.) Minimize or disable interrupt moderation rate
3B.) Disable offload TCP segmentation
3C.) Disable jumbo packets
3D.) Increase transmit descriptors
3E.) Increase receive descriptors
3F.) Increase RSS queues

Without using PowerShell, you can also edit the settings in Network Connections using the information on that page, based on your choices:

1.) Start Menu -> Run -> C:\Windows\System32\ncpa.cpl
2.) Ethernet / Wi-Fi -> Right-Click -> Properties -> Configure... -> Advanced

I’m having tons of lag as well, I never get lag this is really strange. Do you live in canada? Bell Fibe as internet provider? Edit: seems to be fine for now?

It says clearly in the WinMTRs they posted that they are using Comcast.

I don’t think that’s packet loss on the first node. There are more packets received by the game server than it shows being sent from the modem, which means no loss there. Same for a few nodes in the middle.

I’ve been having issues with 1k+ ms lag in the past week (kicks in really fast in BGs)… bell fibe TO here. Strangly it’s only with Wow; playing CS go latency is normal. Tried rebooting modem several times with no change.

Same issue with Bell in TO…

I have never had lag like this. Everything else works fine, its just wow retail. I start at regular ms(world) then it gradually starts going up as time progresses. Eventually I’ll dc because it’ll reach1k+ ms. I updated my nvidia driver today, could that be the cause?

Well mine was my switch. I bypassed it & now I am good.
