High latency spikes from World Latency as of late

I have a good computer, good internet (500/50 down/up) and good ping (usually about 20ms tops). However, I am getting huge world latency spikes…up to 500ms or more at times for no apparent reason. I have attempted more than once to reboot/reset my router/modem etc. to no avail. A couple of my friends who also are also on this server (Demon Soul) have experienced these as well. Quite frustrating when you are trying to run mythic+ dungeons and/or raids.

This has only recently started happening like maybe a month or so ago.

Here is a screen clip of what I am referring to – https: // imgur . com / isEpnOt

What is going on? Is there anything else I can do?

Same here. Huge world lag spikes on Eonar. Game is unplayable.

Same. It’s happened in dungeons and now is happening to me during CN. I’ve also restarted my wow just for it to have 5 “updates”.

The same issues here have made doing keys pretty much impossible since every few packs I lock up for 5-10 seconds. My home latency will be at like 20 but the world spikes between 600-1000.

Happens everywhere; middle of oribos, bg’s, dungeons, raids, instances.

World ping just shoots up from 500-2000 every 5-10 mins.

This is happening with me also, and my server is Moon Guard. It is mainly happening in raids (especially when I am playing with my hubby who is in the same house.) It’s driving me crazy, and I have no idea how to fix it.

I am getting very similar issues. About every 5-10 minutes I get a spike to 500-1000ms world latency. I’ve run packet loss tests coming back 0.1% and I have good internet speeds on every other game and device so idk what’s going on with this.

Good to know I’m not the only one.

Last week, was having some internet issues (in WoW, but also loading pages on internet, or having YouTube videos buffer - hasn’t happened since I got decent internet & good computer). But even when it seemed OK on other sites, WoW had issues.

I’d have constant DCs for awhile, but later on, freezes (NPCs gone or unresponsive, casting animation lasting, well, forever . . .) I could chat, but that’s about it. I would either eventually DC or have to quit (using task manager).

BUT on top of that, I’ve seen something recently that I haven’t seen in a long time - BIG latency numbers. Started seeing a red bar in the game last week and continues today.

After months of working ok, some 3/4 days ago the insane latency came back, it’s in the seconds (like absurd peaks of 5 to 10 seconds), and anywhere in the world, not only big cities. Internet conection is ok, everything else works. Only thing up to speed is apparently the chat, which makes it obvious that’s a Blizzard problem.

Are you running the base UI with no addons?

I’m from Grobblus classic and I’ve been having the same issues. I swear blizzard needs to do some major maintenance work and investigate on their servers cause this all started the moment that the Crono patch was launched and its getting worse and worse each week. I don’t know what is causing this but is really does sound like lot of bottle neck issues. I have Ruled out UI and mods cause it does the same thing with NOTHING on and have ruled out my internet because everything else is fine its just wow that’s the problem. If other people are not having the same issue it is for sure some bottle necking issues. How ever I have no idea how to address this. Is there a way I can redirect my connections that the bottleneck does not happen and how?

Yes, base UI, zero addons. Game is completely unplayable - latency shows about 1300ms but it takes up to 10s from the cast (e.g. mount) to the response. Chat still appears normal. Here’s a MTR:

Hey there,

It looks like the peer network that your internet provider uses to send the data to our servers is encountering some data loss when going to Level3.net. This is likely the cause of the reported behavior. Please be sure to report the issue to the internet service provider. They can reach out to the peer network responsible for that node to resolve the issue.

If there’s anything else you might need just let us know! Thanks for playing and enjoy the games!
