High Latency, Sometimes

I am having massive Latency on the Proudmore Realm playing both Horde and Alliance in BG’s. Home Latency is 75ms but World Latency can go as high as 6659ms. After I Ieave the BG, the World Latency goes back to normal, usually around 75ms. IS this happening to anyone else? And I want to add that this only happens in BG’s. Before I enter and after I leave the BG my Latency is normal. It’s quite puzzling.

I’m having a similar issue for a few days now. My is sitting at 80 then spiking to 360-500. Freezing everything going on around me. Happens in open world and instances frequently enough to deplete keys and cause mythic raid wipes. Is this a known thing happening on WOW end or as per usual everyone’s ISP?

Thanks for the reports! There’s currently no known issues with higher than normal latency in just instances. Generally, when it spikes very high this could be caused by addons. Has the addons been disabled during instances to test? Try a full reset on the user interface if it persists. Addon cache and resources can cause the latency to spike further.

It can also help to play with the System > Network settings. We’ve seen situations where Enable Ipv6 and Optimize Network for Speed disabling (and at times, enabling) has helped with the latency spikes. whether or not to disable/enable will depend on the connection. Trying both should help.

If it does continue after all of the steps provided, canWinMTR tests while running the game for 10-15 minutes be provided?

Add me to this for Proudmoore as well. I’ve noticed the increase in lag more in instances. It can go as high as 600 making things unplayable.

So I play on barthilas, and it didn’t happen to me till last week. I get really high world latency when I enter a big for dungeons I am fine but just by is causing this problem. Since the lockdown in my city I didn’t leave my house much so no network or internet connection changes happen and that got me wondering as to why it suddenly started happening

Hey Faithlessdoc,

Please try the steps provided by Caterpepi and create a new forum thread with the WinMTR test results if you still have latency. In the future, we ask that you please don’t reply to old threads like this to avoid confusion. Thanks!
