High latency - centurylink! Mainthread

After spiking 2k-5k world ping every time I play without any real rhyme or reason I finally just had to cancelled my service with centurylink. I thought they also had my area’s market cornered, but after living here for 3 years I didn’t do enough research and finally found another provider last week. Maybe @blizzard can give me 2 month’s of game time plus the difference in costs to install a new internet service due to hours and hours of painful interruption and disconnects. In addition you can also pay for the hours I’ve spent on the phone with CL trying to correct this issue every single week. Seriously what a way to vilify your customer’s loyalty. I wish I found this forum sooner I wouldn’t of dealt with it for so long.

Centurylink user here as well on the west coast and I have high latency problems around 6:00-8:30PM PST which is quite frustrating to play with as these are the times my mythic raid starts, I typically am around 60-80ms and with the spikes I am at 200-300 which is very hard to play with.

Just a quick note : Call of Duty is being effected by this at the same times. After paying $100 for a game, and subbing monthly for WoW , this is an unbelievable situation that is lasting far too long. At this stage, unsubbing to WoW after 15 years is a definite and asking for a refund for Shadowlands since I play to raid and can no longer do that – is strongly on my mind.

Please update us with an ETA when it will go back to normal and hire people with competency to do their jobs in a timely fashion.

Just got off the phone with centurylink. They said its 100% on blizzards end. Im starting to think so as well. It lags even with my VPN. Blizzard come on…

After a several weeks of it working on IPV6 it is now back to high latency. So what ever it is you are doing it would seem all you are capable of is breaking things further. It has always been clear where the problem is and no amounts of Traceroutes or Winmtrs “All of which are showing the exact same thing” is going to help, that’s just a ploy to keep the customer feeling like we are helping and you are actually doing your jobs.

Your vpn could be routing you through the same location. If you read anything anyone has posted you will see that this is a LEVEL3 ISSUE, not centurylink or blizzard. Centurylink could solve it by rerouting us, blizzard can only solve it by moving their servers.

Yep this is still currently a issue and makes it tough to raid. Reached out to century link but there customer service it horrible to where i want to tell them to jump in a whole. Is there even a fix other than a vpn and what is a good vpn for the az area

Just to note, Level3 is owned by Centurylink.

It appears they rerouted again. We will have to see if tonight is awful. But the base levels of this path are worse then the previous ones.
