High Latency - Bell Canada - Ontario

Having the same issues here In Saskatoon using Sasktel. Loading screens take about 2 minutes even on an SSD. When I do eventually get in, I can’t cast anything, mount up or talk to NPCs. Started happening last night after I joined a M+. Almost lost the key because of this. I’m on Illidan if it helps.

Another Saskatoon player with issues since Sunday, trying to connect to Terenas. Yesterday it was world server, and today home server. In game lag at around 3k ms.

Sasktel here also. Same problems also. On phone with Sasktel atm. Anyone else get their problem fixed?

Seems to be intermittent & deceptive. My latency went back to “normal” in-game. Problems re-appeared when I tried to do an Island Expedition, and I got booted from the group. Seems to also flare up when I am changing zones (boat from Zuldazar to Boralus).

Changing your DNS or using a VPN both work as a temporary fix until blizz/sasktel figure their stuff out.

Hello all the Sasktel folks! so nice to not be alone with this pain. Issue started this weekend. Definately contributed to losing out on the timer of a mythic + :frowning: Not computer savvy enough to try the fancy fixes, so hopefully this gets resolved soon.
#boredsaskatoongamer

I gave them a call today. They said absolutely nothing wrong on their end. I was recommended to port forward. All the info I was given.

Theres another thread about Sasktel issues as well. Looks like people are starting to call and complain.

Hey there Drakuloth. I was in contact with sasktel support last night. The issue is definitely with sasktel nodes. I was the one who suggested cloudflare DNS, and even this was not fixing it. Upon doing MTR tests there were three sasktel nodes which had large packet loss. I have a ticket in to sasktel right now. I’ll update when they get back to me.

Also side note, for those of you with access to VPNs, linking out of province will avoid the nodes causing issues. 135ms is better than 2300ms for now!

Thanks for the updates! Don’t have too much in terms of updates however this is something that we’re currently tracking. Be sure to provide the info previously requested by Drakuloth here. As with previous posts, the only workaround for the time being would be to try setting up a different DNS or using a VPN to bypass the problem nodes.

On Sasktel as well. And me and my room-mate are on the same network and are ONLY experiencing problems with WoW. Got lagged out of dungeons, couldn’t use abilities, etc.

To everyone still experiencing issues, This issue has now been escalated to Sasktel’s Network team after providing them with the problem nodes. They are aware of the specific problem and are looking into a fix

MAJOR UPDATE*****************************************
So apparently the issue was with a major data center in Seattle. Sasktel has confirmed that at 4pm CST this data center was worked on and the issue should be resolved. If anyone still has issues please post here so i can pass along any info.

Thanks for helping escalate this. Been busy IRL, so I appreciate the persistence.

It’s not just you. My ISP is Cogeco and the lag has been pretty bad at times. It might start at 32 or so but then slowly climbs into the 400s and worse at times. It affects my FPS as well as would be expected. The strange part is that at times it will be around 34 but will have a delay of 2 or 3 seconds when I click on an action such as a melee move.

I don’t think this is limited to Bell Canada. I’m in Seattle and am having the same issue.

Random spikes in ping anywhere from 700 to 5k.

Hey you two,

This issue is long since resolved. If you’re still having problems, they are unrelated. Please check out this thread and follow the instructions to start your own thread if it’s not helpful.
