I’m playing from Thailand and up until a few weeks ago I played on a US realm. But I got increased latency after one of the patches. Was used to around 270ms latency, which worked ok. Then I started to get higher and higher latency, specially when there were a lot of people online in the US. It was better after 11pm server time and I didn’t have that much issue playing. Before this I was playing on an Oseanic realm. So I thought I would go back to the Oseanic realm cos the latency was much lower and everything seemed to work much better. Normally I had a latency of around 127ms, which was ok. Still did a lot of dps and was happy.
After patch 11.1.7 was released last Wednesday (Oseanic and my time) I have had increased latency with numbers up towards what I had on US realm. Yetsreday I started to get problems with the graphics, as posted in other threads in Technical Support forums, and higher latency. Now I am lucky if I get under 430ms. This makes the game almost unplayeble for me. Tried to run delves but it takes a long time for the cast to start. Still getting through with kill on the last boss thanx to healer Brann’s high dps helping me. He does more dps than me on a few of the harder mobs.
Today I had a guy here looking at things and he did what he could to optimize the network and other important settings. He also installed new RAM for me going from 16GB to 32GB without any luck on latency. I’ve done all of the other steps to get the latency down but noghting is working. The guy that was here says this is a server problem and not an internet problem.
So what can I do? Is Blizzard gonna fix this or do I have to find another game to play that I can enjoy as much as I enjoy WoW?
I’ve heard that a VPN might help but not sure if it does.
Any suggestions?
I’m on a US server and in Overcharged delves, there’s been horrendous lag spikes.
The patch is riddled with bugs. I have a Ryzen 5 3300X processor, GeForce RTX 3060 GPU, 32 GB DDR5 and dedicated lan. It’s not you, my friend, it’s the game. I’ve died numerous times due to lag, and then couldn’t even get to release to restart the delve. It’s really, really bad.
That’s why they’re doing emergency maintenance, but it’s not helping. They will most likely get everything fixed on Tuesday US for maintenance, so hold on. I doubt a VPN would make any difference at this point.
