The racial being a proc that goes off in combat is one of my absolute favourite things about playing a void elf.
If the racial was ever changed to be something else in order to appease high elf fans, I think i would just conced that the race is theirs now and play something else.
That’s my line in the sand really. Because that will be the day that void elves are officially dead. Pushed to be the sub race in their own race.
Why must people continue?

I guess we’re all a little on edge as we know that midnight will end this debate forever and we don’t know what the outcome is yet.
Given one of the two outcomes, prepare for a flood of “Why didn’t you add High Elf?” topics once the expansion ends.

Yeah, but the next generation will feature the same “missed opportunity” rants as the previous, just with added ways they could have slipped in HE at some point in the expansion.
I hope no one would suggest changing the mechanical details of that “racial”.
There could be an entirely optional thing to change the aesthetics to something “arcane”, as befits high elves. But it would have to leave the mechanical side alone.

As if. I can tell you the outcome. There won’t be any helfs because Blizzard isn’t stupid, they won’t clone another race and start more drama with this specific race than there already is. But they’ll continue being silent cause, you know, someday WoW might die and before it does, they can sell a helf race pack. And the helfer types here will cry and moan for a week or two. Then silence. Then someone spots a helf NPC in the next expansion and the whole debacle starts all over again. It’s been this way since TBC and it won’t change.
Maybe, but this expansion is meant to reunite the elves.
If ever there was a time to add them or retire them, it would be now.
Like, I don’t want to change the racial, I just rather have it as a toggle rather than a random proc in my own opinion. Like, I don’t want to ruin it from those who enjoy the Void Elves for as they are.
They already are though.
Because what is given is never enough for people. they ask for VE to look like HE, they got it, now that they saw they buckled under the harrassment, they want more.
Give an inch, ask a mile.
That’s a given, just be raedy for 20+ high elf threads every day on general discussion.
They can do what they did for dreanei/eradar, certain cosmetics changes the racials color.
Well… maybe not stupid, but weak.
They’ve already got the mile, they are trying to go for the full 100 miles.

If it’s not a random proc, the racial is different and the fun is ruined unfortunately.
As I said, just my own opinion. After all, I’m happy being back on Horde anyways.
Btw, best comment ever made on the EU Forums. About just merging those remaining High Elves into Blood and Void and putting an end to the High. Blizzard needs to do this.
Could be a possibility since eversong is going to be shared by high and void elves in midnight.
Possibly, or hopefully.
Either way, we do see high elves joining VE anyways in telogros, being taught and trained for it.
Fully merging them can fully end the request.
