Saying that you have wishful thinking and refuse to understand on principle is not a personal attack, it’s a statement of what you are doing.
It’s not even my “complain”.
I’m just cheering on “team high elf” from the stands here because of the other team’s mysterious dedication to responding to every request for it with venom and vehemence and a lot of inconsistent arguments.
“It’s not a personal attack if I believe it’s true”. OK. Bye.
Because high elf fan have been spamming the forum for 20years over the most silly thing ever. Telling high elf fan to go play a blood elf if they want to play the playable blood/high elf race is not being toxic, it is just to state a obvious fact.
The one with inconsist argument here is you repeating the same argument over even when that said argument was counter and having nothing to reply to it so you just go back to your first argument.
Venom, vehemence and venom arguments is what you have. Arguments based on nothing but wishful thinking.
It’s not about believing, it’s simply what you are doing. If you were doing something different than I would have also stated that.
It is.
“I’m not being a jerk, YOU’RE being a jerkl.” ![]()
Indeed. How are you that smart?
Man it’s beyond wishful thinking now. This post is just pure seethe and spite. Blizzard gave High Elf appearances to the Blood Elves and the Void Elves and it STILL isn’t enough for these people. There is not going to be a separate special group of Elves AGAIN for the Alliance.
The lore is so rock solid that these High Elf complaint threads need to be deleted on sight.
So there are no “high elves” in the Alliance in WOW?
There are like 20 walking around Dalaran, actually there were, maybe now it’s about 5
There were a few Elves who were in the Kirin Tor who were not a part of the genocide of the Elves in Warcraft III that are loyal to the KT who were added as flavor in Dalaran.
After years of complaints Blizzard threw you people a bone and gave High Elf customizations to Blood Elves in the Horde and Void Elves in the Alliance. It’s over dawg. Roll your void elf and choose the pretty High Elf customizations.
I mean, for the last hour all you did was to antagonize everyone and not once did you dared to reply to my argument. All you are doing is to try to play the victim card by antagonizing the other side. I didn’t even once insulte you and i gave counter argument and yet you keep saying that we are being mean and toxic.
It doesn’t help that the lore reason for Blood Elves joining Horde is excessively dumb.
“Let’s join forces with Orcs and Trolls that have killed countless of our own kind and fight against the Stormwind Humans because Lordaeron attacked us, nearly wiped us out, and afterwards a small band of Lordaeron survivors betrayed us (Garithos), therefore we are going to become friends with Lordaeron and said Orcs and Trolls. Because we dislike Stormwind humans for the actions of Lordaeron.”
Blood Elf lore is such a big joke
“You people”?
I just came back to the game after years away, I wasn’t part of any of that.
I’m just stunned at the venomous reaction towards even the idea or request. It’s like a high elf kicked someone’s puppy and ran over their mom, the way some people react.
They’ve given all they are going to give for this. It’s more than they should have honestly. Just take what they have given you and roll with it. Make the HE from a VE and go on an RP server and play as a High Elf all day long.
The main reason blood elves joined the Horde was because people didn’t play Horde much and then they gave it a pretty race. That’s how I see it. I don’t think the lore they made for it is bad though, they basically joined it because they were alone and Sylvanas helped them with it for being a former high elf herself. They also had no reasons to be part of the Alliance after WC3, as the Alliance had betrayed them.
At this point asking for Alliance blood elves is like asking for Horde night elves. And no, nightborne are not night elves, as they have a completely different appearance and lack the Druid culture. Although Alliance got a race that looks exactly like blood elves. However, it was not enough for the MoonGuard high elf wannabes.
I am glad that you will never get what you want.
I’ve replied to the same arguments several times in this thread, over and over.
On yours… it’s not that I didn’t reply, it’s that I’ve said repeatedly (going back to others making them), that they’re not arguments against high elves, they’re examples of where Blizz has been inconsistent or screwed something up. “But X race can’t be Y faction” is less of an argument against alliance high elves and more of an argument FOR those other options to be opened up.
But part of that is just a disconnect in approach to the game.
Many of the arguments against adding options seem to come across as wanting the individual characters to all be examplars of their specific race and class, or of their “culture” in the game, rather than individual characters. So “X race joined Y faction” becomes “no one from that race would ever NOT join that faction”. Even if the existence of exceptions is acknowledged, there seems to be a hard stance against a PC being one of those exceptions.
This is linked to why I said I didn’t care about what “themes” or “grand stories” a new option for PCs adds to the game…because I don’t see that as the role of PC options. I see the role of PC options as first, middle, and last, being more choices and more fun for the players. Story, themes, grand ideas, whatever, that can come in later.
As long as an option doesn’t blow up “the lore” (and most don’t unless we expect every PC to represent a vast swath of their fellows as an exemplar), there’s little reason to be vehemently opposed to it.
Meanwhile, something like the Hariboo are added, which requires a major retcon of “the lore”, and almost the only complaints I see about them so far is that they’re ugly – even though they require more change to the existing “the lore” than anything to do with alliance-side high elves.
There’s something there, but it would be a stronger counter-argument if the VEs had a full selection of eye colors, hair styles, etc… and a way to make those “racials” look arcane instead of voidy, just a cosmetic shift.
But holy cow, even suggesting that much has some of the anti-HE posters up in arms.
Well you said yourself you were gone for a long time. But the HE crazies have always been here. Blizz actually got tired of it and added the customizations and STILL it’s not enough. People are just tired of it.
The lore is the lore. It’s the same reason Alliance will never have Sethrak.
