High Elves in 12.1

I also want a horde draenei or a horde worgen but i cant. I have to play alliance to play those race. That how the game have always work. Its not being disingenuous to tell you to play the high elf race that was added 20years ago if you want to play high elf.

Well no, I asked if that’s what you meant.

What makes the DI different? Are they not just flesh and blood dwarves like the other clans etc?

If you can’t understand how dwarves vs DI dwarves are not the same thing as blood elf vs high elf there’s no point. The DI are not only a different clan, they are physiologically different and they have their own culture. Alliance high elves don’t have any of these things.

Wowpedia, etc, make them just sound like a clan of dwarves who spent so much time around elemental fire that they took on some special characteristics, but otherwise just dwarves like any other.

Something like Lightforged Dranei… stayed out in The Light too long… not really justification for more than adding extra options to character creation / barber shop…

Or Kul Tiran (whatever), literally just more humans, even less justified.

Literally never portrayed as distinct from regular humans until BfA, btw!

You mean like void elves? Yes, void elves have physical differentiation from blood elves, at least canonically, they have their lore to explain why, and also have their own subculture. Which again, high elves lack both physical differentiation and culture.

You are not helping yourself here, you are doing the opposite.

From here it looks like there’s no difference between a lot of what Blizz already added to the game, and the high elves… but plenty of double standard on which “should” be in the game as distinct option.

If high elves shouldn’t be in the game… none of these other should either.

If blood elves are high elves are blood elves… then maybe what’s called “blood elves” in the game now should have been a cross-faction race, like dracthyr and earthen.

Those at least look different from each other. A better comparison would be the jungle troll. Do you feel like a other jungle troll race should be add just because we can currently only play the darkspear tribe while the whole gurubashi empire is not playable? Same goes for the goblin. Do you feel like a other identical goblin race should be added just because only the bilgewater cartel is playable?

Nobody is asking for those because nearly everyone just assume that jungle troll and goblin are fully playable even if only a small group of them are. The same goes for blood/high elf. The fantasy of the high/blood elf is already playable through the blood elf despite not being 100% of the population.

Two wrong dont make a right.

Except that blood elves can’t be alliance… which is part of what “team high elf” is asking for… so we’re right back to responses ignoring half the issue.

That doesn’t answer what i just wrote at all.

Dawg, High Elves have been in the game since 2.0. Dunno how you’ve missed that.

Sticking to their lore for once would be for the best. You want to be high elf, play the Horde or accept your void elf mods.

As I said, you don’t understand the difference, and you refuse to see nuance. High elves are not different from blood elves, while every other race you mentioned is different from their regular race. You know what’s that? Wishful thinking. Look up what it means if you don’t know.

It’s not a matter of whether it makes sense or not, it simply will not happen. There are many things that make sense that won’t be applied and many that don’t make sense that were applied. Alliance high elves happen to be one example that does not make sense and won’t be added.

This has been discussed at length… “go play blood elves” really doesn’t solve the core issues for the people who would like to play high elves.

"The lore’ tell us why the Blood Elves on the whole went to the Horde… it doesn’t mean that every elf packed up and moved to Silvermoon, to the last. Individuals are not their cultures – a culture is a set of trends and tendencies, not definitional of every person from it.

We know there are “high elves” still in the Alliance, so there’s no “lore” reason to prevent it.

I’d say that’s a fault in the game, rather than in the players.

But then Blood Elf was added before the idea of cross-faction choices was a thing.

You know what. Not everyone gets what they want in life. The lore is rock solid. Play a Blood Elf or leave.

As I said:

That’s literally all you have, and that’s not how things work. High elves have been Horde for longer than they had been Alliance now. It’s a Horde race.

And you have been explain why your complain doesn’t work and why the blood elf are the race you have to play if you want to play a high elf. Ignoring other people fact doesn’t make it less true.

Based and Sin’dorei-pilled.

So you’ve already had to fall back on personal attacks. Got it.
