Honestly doing what I suggested in another thread, I think would be the best course of action.
- Make the Void Elves & Blood Elves neutral, either being able to pick between Alliance or Horde.
- Then for Blood Elves, have an NPC to decide whether you want the title: ‘Blood Elf’ or ‘High Elf’
Given that the only difference between Blood Elves and High Elves is political, I feel it’d make sense from a lore-stance if they “unite” the elves of sorts.
Void Elves were cosmically altered by the void akin to how the Nightborne were from the Night-well or Lightforged Draenei were by the light, so naturally I understand them remaining as such.

The Alliance is already overrun with Humans being Stormwing Humans, Gilnean Humans and Kultiran Humans. The whole game also has the same amount of Humans as Elves with 4 if we add the Forsaken. 5 in TWW if we count how these half Elves are just humans with small pointy ears…
I am not an advocate for High Elves, but I would rather get more Elves than more Humans at this point…

So make a light skinned blue eyed void elf
Problem solved.

They do complain about the racial. There have been posts demanding the ability to turn it off.

No no, I mean if Blizz caved and they got High Elves as a race. They would complain about the racial.

Another example of High Elf fanatics never being happy.

This is no comparison Void Elves, Blood Elves, and if you get High Elves are the same model. Humans, Worgen, Kultirans and if you want to throw in Forsaken all different models.
I don’t want more of any race that we have right now. All these nice models in the game and we keep getting the same thing in different colors.

Blood elves arent going to forsake the horde or downplay the role they had in their peoples return from near extinction.
High elves are also the reason there are so many half elves to begin with, they are getting bred out of existance.
Alliance has just done nothing for their people except help themselves to their backsides.

I agree they are different models. I am not talking about models exactly, but race. As I said, not an advocate of Elves.
Worry not, though. Before High Elves come, we might get another highly demanded Dwarf race.

Ya know, I would be fine with this if my High (Void) Elf didn’t spend most of its in combat time glowing purple… I really hate that racial.

It’s Ion Hazzikostas’ fault for not giving the Alliance at least a bit diversity. They get their fourth dwarf race now.
Then take this analogy for your transmog. You’re a Void Elf and no true High Elf. If you didn’t get the RAF, you will always look out of place.

No, come on. Enough of this. We have velfs who can look like helfs. Which was a mistake in my opinion cause it feels like they spent way too much time making vefls look like belfs instead of developing their identity. But here they are, another elf that is identical to belfs and velfs really has no purpose.

I love dwarfs but even I am like…another? I think models in WoW are more important than races. We go more by the visual differences, it is one thing if High Elves had a really unique model but since they since they share a model with Blood /Void Elves and they are same race the question of why is there.

4th? IF Dwarf, DI Dwarf, soon to be Earthen. What dwarf am I missing?

Wildhammer Dwarves. They got a whole race baked into the Bronzebeards.

I dont want high elves and would rather they canonically all die in a fire.
However if they did become their own race, it would at least mean people stop trying to take the void out of void elves.
If a void elf player could use the white skin options to be a void elf like alleria without people thinking high elf, that would be cool.
Basically… high elves ruin half the fun of void elves.

And much like red skinned goats, they are a cosmetic. There is only 3 playable dwarf races.

Wait, are we going by OPs statement? Cause if they don’t count Void Elves as High Elves with the customizations, then dwarves would be the same.

But they are the fourth dwarven race.
You don’t know Dwarven lore. Wildhammers’ height is between the Earthen and Bronzebeards, they are slimmer, usually brown-tanned. They have completely different racials/ideals and don’t focus on archeology. It’s thanks to them that the Alliance can use Shamans on “Dwarf”.
