That was Othmar’s fault, not the Alliance as a whole.
Well the Alliance certainly didn’t do us any favors when Artthas (an Alliance Prince btw) attacked our homeland and fouled the Sunwell.
maybe thats because the nearest alliance kingdom got, as they say, “ROLFstomped” before Arthas marched his army of corpses up to Quel’Thalas . . . seriously why does everyone seem to forget Lordaeron fell before Quel’Thalas
Between the comments from the Devs stating that they wanted to make customization options available to players in order to reflect the many different walks of a life a race has made makes me pretty confident that these are definitely blood elf cosmetic options. This new player agency is one of Shadowland biggest selling points afterall, it’s very unlikely that they wouldn’t take advantage of it.
I for one am happy that blizzard is allowing Blood elf players to decide their character’s past, and backstory regardless of what the quest text says, and allow players to reflect those choices with these new wonderful cosmetics. I can say that my elf is a repatriated High elf mage from Dalaran, and choose to reflect that when I customize my character.
It is called guilt by association.
Yes Othmar was the leader and chose not to help but you think he was the only one requested for help? Gilneas did what? Holed itself up… etc.
And now Prince Kael’thas is dead, the Sunwell is restored, and Quel’thalas is open to all Sin’dorei/Quel’dorei for pilgrimage, so what would keep a lot of these Elves who didn’t follow their former prince from returning to their former kingdom? Just because they favour red instead of blue now?
Most of the Quel’dorei who didn’t follow the prince were in neutral or benign organizations. Vareesa is not an Alliance elf, she’s a Dalaran elf. She is neutral and probably is making sure her own sons and those under her can go to the Sunwell.
Again, what would prevent many of those lore Quel’dorei from returning to their old kingdom? Just because they sided with the Horde? The hatred of the Trolls? Which the Horde and Alliance went to fight off? (So, no)
Even the Nightborne see the Sin’dorei as fellow Quel’dorei. The Kal’dorei even see the Sin’dorei as Quel’dorei. The Kaldorei, who barely let former Highborne (Quel’dorei) of old into the Kaldorei ranks again but only to train new mages, see the Sin’dorei as Quel’dorei.
At this point it’s just a want and isn’t even lore friendly anymore for there to be a Quel’dorei Alliance faction. Moreover again, the Silver Covenant is a Dalaran aligned group, not Alliance.
That’s why the Ren’dorei were even made, a group of elves experimenting with magic that could collapse the Quel’thalas kingdom AGAIN. So it makes sense for them to be outcasts and not folded into the kingdom.
So are blood elves and void elves… you’re completely mission the point…
