We all know what is to come. The inevitable creation of a high thread for those desiring them. Why High Elves Don't Work: A Primer

After seeing this entire debacle play out since Void Elves were revealed, I have noticed a couple things. Firstly, that Ion, and thus Blizzard, haven’t changed their stance on High Elves since Blizzcon. Secondly, that High Elf Hopefuls keep bringing up the same arguments that they claim supports High Elves. High elves are an iconic Horde race and making them playable on the Alliance would infringe on the Horde’s identity. Just as Horde shouldn’t get playable humans Alliance shouldn’t get playable high elves, unless they are sufficiently differentiated from Blood Elves like Void Elves.

Additionally playable Alliance high elves is the most banal option there is, like giving Alliance another horse mount. With limited allied race slots, the Alliance deserves something other than solidifying the most basic fantasy trope. Alliance should receive something that differentiate them from the Horde and every other common fantasy cliche, like sethrak. With Shadow Lands launching soon, promising new and interesting races, I hope we get something unique to the Alliance that also makes WoW more… WoW.

Keep WoW weird, say “No!” to playable Alliance high elves.

Just give the alliance the elves. may help the population issue. Hell, horde we’re given Panda’s so they wouldn’t cry even thought they don’t fit horde lore. Same race on both side looking exactly the same. We’ve already crossed that line.

Don’t worry about it. It’s good to finally have this again and don’t want it to get derailed with links to other threads being spammed and bickering. It wont be a copy and pasting, the High Elfs are already there, just take a walk around SW keep, there is one there since classic or go to Boralus there is another high elf there in the portals.
