High Elves are the most wanted race that are still not playable in WoW.
Midnight must address this.

These people are useful, they contribute to the visibility of HE threads.
Real, the endless bumps is probably genuinely contributing to how stuff keeps getting added lolll
So, she and the rest of the Silver Covenant didn’t get involved in the actual combat or war in any capacity besides a single portal to Boralus? If your argument was to convince me that they were patriotic loyal Alliance soldiers, holding a portal open isn’t gonna cut it.
Especially when portals are generally a game mechanic to allow the player to travel.
Again, even the Arathi used the Void elf hairstyle, it’s clear they’re utilizing all the options for the NPCs despite not having any association with them.
And it’s funny, the Void elf area gets updated, the high elf wayfarer NPCs disappear and the Void elves are seen mingling exclusively with other Blood elves with interests in the Void. Then we see normal High elves preferring to mingle with the Blood elves than back in the Alliance hub.
Interesting indeed.
Yes, very amusing coming from the person convinced that Alliance high elves are going to become a new playable race. hehe
Yeah, reminds me of people telling me that blue eyes would never come to Blood elves because it was an alliance thematic.
me now
How’s it feel knowing your race is less important than Quel’dorei and Ren’dorei? Or how 1 Ren’dorei could massacre tens of thousands of Sin’dorei?
Less important? Aren’t you the guys dying to get into the Blood elf city? Didn’t one of the Ren’dorei get turned by the void in the Dark heart patch? Didn’t we need to come and save all the Void elves in the rift before Xaly killed them?
I’d say I’m feeling pretty good that we get the light-elf narrative and the Sunwell, and you guys are stuck with the tentacle aberrations and void narrative. (Not knocking anyone who does like the void narrative, just not my taste.)
Have fun with that!
I think canonically this was just alleria and the void elves who did that.
That or alleria, the void elves, and a vague adventurer.
We can bookmark this and come back in Midnight I guess I’m not worried hehe
This could be the case, but I feel like the point around progressing from the status quo of the rift being an exclusively alliance hub suggests that the horde was involved, at least in some capacity. It would also explain why there’s so many Blood elves hanging around still using normal Sin’dorei dialogue. But that is more speculative.
Bless your heart child.
Personally i feel that if anyone else was there then they would have been represented in some way.
As it stands there are no npcs outside of the void elves involved in the questline.
And once its over jaina gets told and she goes off to tell thrall.
But if horde was there, she wouldnt need to update them on it.
This isn’t generally done when it involves only the player-character, generally if something wants to be expressed as being exclusive to a certain group or faction storywise it would be restricted to that group in-game. It’s nebulous when it comes to player-canon, but considering that this event is open to all races and factions, its safe to say that the implication was we, the player regardless of faction was forced to combat a traitor Void elf, and then rescue the Void elves in the rift.
At the very least there’s nothing that suggests that this involved purely Void elves.
i am hoping its a helf and half elf migration to both factions, problem solved
This seems to be what they’re implying already.
It does seem that Blizzard is sticking to it’s guns when it comes to the Void elves remaining Void-infused elves, however instead of just cloning the Blood elf model again for the Alliance they’re changing how High elves are seen in-game. By using Void elf options on high elven NPCs Void elf players won’t feel left out when they can see the High elf NPCs with their hairstyles.
In contrast the difference between High elves and Blood elves in-game is purely their relationship with each other, so by showing us Blood elves and high elves being friendly together and mingling it helps clear up the old narrative of the Blood elves and High elves hating each other.
In my opinion, both these choices were made as a way to give both groups High Elves, and satisfy two camps at once.
That silver convenant mage outfit is really nice. Out of curiosity, do the high elf npc’s still use the generic night elf voice samples? And is there any interaction dialogue with any of the new high elf labeled npc’s or between them and the sunreavers?
Yeah, they still use the Generic Night elf voices.
I’m not a really big fan of the new Silver Covenant Mage armors, they sort of look like unused, recolored MoP assets. I do however love the Silver staff Quel’thalas though.
I can understand that. The armor appears to be one of the recolors of an upcoming mage set, so it’s potentially obtainable, which I like. I’ll cross my fingers that staff somehow is too, cause it’s also quite nice.
Yeah, I bet it’ll show up in the trader post at some point. They’ve added a few High elven themed options in there already.
I really liked the pieces of the magisters set from the post. I wish the red version wasn’t locked in the remix thing, but i’ll grind it out eventually.
Yeah but then youre back to alleria, the void elves, and a vague adventurer.
Basically, they had this covered and the player just tags along to see the story
Hairstyles must be shared between VE and BE. Zero reason not to at this point.
