High Elf compromise

That’s honestly the part that bugs me the most. The void elf leader is exactly what people want. Meanwile the playable void elves look like they were dipped in a vat of blue cool-aid.

Congratulations! You have discovered a personality trait of high elves! Your side like to claim we want the “goody good” elves yet we have never said they were the good elves nor have we ever framed it as such. High elves have their flaws. That is a good thing.

Now if only blizzard would recognize that for the alliance at large instead of constantly writing them as the good guys.

Oh, you speak for your people. That’s great. I never even thought to consider people who argue for playable Alliance high elves as a monolith. Thanks for the update.

So I should expect to only address which arguments from now on?

Do you think they’ll sing the song of their people? I’ve always wanted to hear that. Or at least someone singing the song of their people.

That sounds delicious!

But seriously the consumed a void naaru which honestly would seem more volatile.

Can I just tell you that I love that movie.

somehow i knew you were gonna say that. haha

Keep WoW weird. It’s what make WoW… WoW and not every other generic fantasy world.

But, how did you know!?

Let me guess, you like Darkness, Princes Bride, and Never Ending Story but you prefer the second one.

use to have the poison scene memorized. haha. even painted the actor, mr. elwes. he’s great.

heres some weird

That’s cool. There are some ancient towers built on this island (Sardinia) off the coast of Italy I’d like to visit. There’s a whole bunch of them.

I haven’t watched this video, but whatever. Maybe it’s good?

interesting. never heard of that before. the last one reminds me of some old ruins in south africa. and what is darkness? i know princess bride and neverending story but not darkness

Noones ignoring Lore. Bloodelves, High elves and Void elvs are all the same race, everyone knows that, and yet theres a clear distintion between the three. Pretending we don’t know the difference between High elves and blood elves is just ignorance and intentional trolling.

Void elves ARE bloodelves, by your logic so we allready have Highelves on the alliance, we just want OUR highelves to have the same customisation options that OUR npc high elves, that are in OUR cities, allready have. We don’t care about your bloodelves.

p.s. High elf NPCs were part of the alliance in Vanilla, BEFORE the horde took one of our races in burning crucade.

You just want your elf race to be a carbon copy of an existing Horde race. Which is just ridiculous. You already have the Blood Elf model, now you just expect Horde players to be okay with you getting our customization options too.

Like it or not Blood Elves are a Horde race. You’re not going to convince me that your faction should get a 100% copy of one of the Hordes races just because the version you got isn’t good enough. Tough luck.

You do know toxicity comes from both sides, not just some of the pro’s.

This is how I feel the discussion should go, and there were really good discussions on the megathread when the discussion revolved around this.

It’s not good enough because of a key factor: Their origin.
Basically, the Void elves are simply not High elves but Blood elves.
In other words it’s not an Alliance race but a Horde race that was given.

If they were Alliance High elves from the start with blue eyes , all complaints / demands would have died down since a long time.
Unfortunatly, we have an assumed Horde player as Game director who couldn’t refrain to troll the Alliance players…

Also, Blood elves and High elves have a meaning before saying they are both a Horde fantasy:
Their philosophy, culture and politics are radicaly different despite being of the same race.
In WoW, each of them are their own thing whether you want it or not.

  • Blood elves are Horde fantasy.
  • High elves as they are in WoW are Alliance fantasy

The solution is simple:
Add a slight modification in the Void elves intro quest by stating in the text we found that Umbric is followed by some Sin dorei and Quel dorei from Dalaran.
Also prior to their transformation into Void elves, add some High elves in the team.
It will solve the origin problem.
Also adding high elves eyes and a slightly purple skin as a custom option will finish the work.

Simple, quick, and there’s no need to add the HE as an Allied race.
