High Elf Compromise Celebration Thread

I am just glad that at least half the high elf threads on the forums will now go away and we can get back to nagging blizzard for Vrykul and Ogres.

Void elves are high elves , you hijackers just want a distinct race showing your tooltip as High elf . It didnā€™t happen for the people who love wild hammer dwarves and they donā€™t rave about .

Happy for those who are willing to settle.

I am not.

This compromise is unacceptable to me.

Still looking for Alliance playable Silver covenant High Elves.

Just wanted to tell you that you are the most ungrateful person Iā€™ve probably ever seen. Good job.

I mean Iā€™m happy for yall butā€¦ I donā€™t think high elf fans were a majority. In any sense of the word, really.

At the end of the day the true High Elves are the Nightborne and theyā€™re still Horde side. x,D

Nah the High elf mages joined the alliance a few years ago, remember? That was when mage became playable for Nightelves.

The Night Elves of Suramar were Highborne elves also known as Quelā€™dorei before the dome went up.
Nightborne are still the true, original Quelā€™dorei.

And the Shenā€™dralar, the Night Elf mages, are Highborne as wellā€¦

There is like 10 of them left, they barely count as an actual population.

Oh, sorry, I donā€™t speak headcanon.

Honestly what I truly hope this is not simply a ā€œget to look the partā€ compromise and actually addresses the lore flaws with void elves and the high elves as a group, and takes this as an opportunity to move forward the lore of the thalassian exiles as a whole.

When Void Elves got introduced, I was really excited about the concept of the High Elves following into Alleriaā€™s footsteps, and realizing what the actual story was, was very frustrating.

I hope this serves to move the High Elves forward -at least a part of them- and give the Void Elves more substance.

Iā€™m not going to settle on this compromise. This is weak and pathetic. These are still the blood elves that became void elves. Since the introduction of void elves, the much requested high elves has been a step further away from what we want. This is not enough for the lot of us.

Give. The. Alliance. Proper. High Elves!

For the Alliance!

salutes my Stormwind War Banner impaled in a Blood Knight

Yeah cause 10 Demon hunters counts as enough of a population to be playable and the like 20 void elves count enough too. The numbers game is old and beaten and doesnā€™t work. The Highbourne as they were exist in alliance. they are the same dudes that never stopped their studies, the only difference is they didnt hide under a bubble and change from what the Nightbourne used to look like.

Night Elf Highborne are really the true Highborne. The Nightborne are mutant ex-Highborne.

But what if they address this as lorewise the High Elves -at least the Silver Covenant- joining the Void Elves under the same banner, with both Windrunners as their leaders?

That would effectively address High Elves as an entity -at least the one we have constantly seen since WotLK-

Would that suffice? Or is this just an issue of ā€œThis is not High Elves as I want themā€?

It fits what we see in Telogrus, as in what we know from how the originals were created vs new recruits in Telogrus that are High Elves. Also, they can retain the SC for story purposes when it suits them while taking the Void Elves off on a new path in the lore. Win Win Win Win, and Win.

I think not only that but why would new VEā€™s who are un tainted by the Void not just be HEā€™s who are open to studying the void, and basically following Alleria. It could literally just be a name change situation for people who donā€™t take the current VE customization options (ie original VEs) so I agree we basically if given the lore along with it, could be playing the HEā€™s that are asked for just with a name change, the racial might still make sense on account of limited void exposure + studying etc, idk how to spin that.

But with lore backing I think this is a really nice compromise.
