High Elf Allied Race Megathread (Continuation)

It’s worth mentioning that those “green” crystals aren’t neccessarily full of Fel, and they just seem to be the vessels the elves use to condense, and harness magic.

We have this art of Dath’Remar founding Quel’thalas, alongside the Sunwell standing before one of these green crystals, far before the fel was ever introduced to the high elves.

Just passing by to say that I support the addition of High Elf waifus, + 1 support! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

You should tell that to the Horde players upset by Teldrassil, or Brennadam, or the blight used in wrath or this expansion.

The “rebuilding” doesn’t happen unless there is something that was torn down before though, and the Horde continues to go through its ups and downs… That’s what makes them the bloody Horde for crying out loud. If they just meandered along content to burn down some caravans and “shoo” the vulpera away then they would be Alliance or if they just came to Azeroth and tried to make peace treaties they would just be Alliance, and players would say they are boring. Hence why so many people get mad at Baine and drool over Slooveenie, or get annoyed when Thrall is playing peacemaker.

I don’t even really like the Horde and I know this.

Some interesting revisionist history going on around here.

That’s not right.

Kael’thas and his followers siphoned from demons.

The felblood didn’t just siphon fel, they actually consumed demon blood.

From your own link:

The felblood elves are a group of Kael’thas Sunstrider’s most loyal followers, who were rewarded by Kil’jaeden with the gift of being allowed to gorge themselves on demonic blood for days for remaining in Outland, even as many of his blood elves retreated through the Dark Portal.

And afaik they are the felblood. The elves who followed Kael and stayed when he went off his rocker. They did both as far as I am aware unless there is a canonical source that says “they drank demon blood but didn’t syphon energy from demons”…in which case my lore is remiss and I could use a link to it.

Kul Tirans are in absolutely no position to complain about Brennadam considering their incursions into Durotar with the express purpose of eradicating the orcs.

That’s relapsing. It’s not redemption if every six months they’re going to be the villains again.

Not all of them became felblood. Not even the majority.

After Kael’s defeat, the Sunfury forces returned to Quel’thalas and pledged themselves to Lor’themar.

Yes, but are you saying that they all fel-tapped demons while they were there?

Well looking past the fact that many of the intended themes for Blood elves in this video have either been completely abandoned or retconned, none of this says the stones they were siphoning from had fel in them, only the ones empowering their structures and city.

The fact that those very same crystals are seen, and used by the elves far before any fel was ever introduced to Quel’thalas is evidence of this.

I can’t say “all” because it’s an absolute, and things never are absolute.

But I can safely say many of them did.

So the idea is to turn the Horde into the Alliance slowly over time? Is that where this is at? Redemption redemption redemption until orcs and forsaken are fluffy bunnies, and goblins are more interested in solving world hunger than anything else.

Again, all I’m asking for is a link to the lore Alamara…if you don’t mind.

Oh…ew. That version of the Horde would be welcome to stand on the ashes of Teldrassil and let us light a new bonfire.

Even so, the prince’s relatively quick acceptance of dire measures (e.g., draining magic from demons) is by no means characteristic of blood elves in general. The blood elves of Outland have by now discovered Kael’thas’ agreement with Illidan, and they have for the most part become convinced of its necessity. Most blood elves still live on Azeroth, though. Few of these elves know of Kael’thas’ pact with Illidan, and many would be horrified if they discovered it. Draining magic from small mana-bearing vermin is a far cry from draining magic from demons. Yet, as their hunger grows, blood elves–particularly those in Outland–are becoming increasingly inured to the things they must do in order to obtain more magic.

I wish YOU sought canon sources before stating things for a change.

No, the Horde will always be different to the Alliance. But they’re not and will never be evil. Just because they’re not genocidal monsters doesn’t mean they’re literally the Alliance.

That’s the entire point of the Horde.

I…you know what, forget it. I made a statement, you countered it, I asked for the lore I didn’t have and get that instead. Don’t bother in the future, please.

I wish I had shiny things.

They do evil things, and they’re big things, and they do them and then bounce back, but they always end up doing the same kind of things (as this expansion has shown). Just like Horde and Alliance fight, but then they band together, then fight again. If you just keep chipping away at the Horde’s identity so they get all that yummy redemption with blue eyes and no more green skin and lightforged undead then yeah they will just become some weird copy of the Alliance.
