Because they are a failed concept. Allied races shouldnt have been a focal point of the expac, I’ve said it before. No one is flat out going to buy the expansion to grind rep to level another toon up to 110 for cosmetic gear. People have, but then there has been immense amounts of people who talk about how leveling is bad, how the rep grind is bad, etc. etc.
Krokul didnt have a female model and Blizzard would have to make one since none existed along with possible customizations for a race we have seen multiple times in expansion.
In honesty, they should just be a customization option off of draenai. LFD shouldnt even exist as anything other than customization.
Aside from that story making me want to hurl from fundamental disgust (interracial breeding camp, really?!). Half-elves are generally regarded as freaks of nature or probability. There are only three half elves in the game, all are Windrunner progeny.
(Kelc doesn’t count because he’s a special snowflake dragon aspect and can appear as whatever he wants)
There are playable Quel’Dorei, they’re on Horde and call themselves Sin’Dorei because of the hardships they’ve faced.
Sssh! The Alliance was supposed to get fair-skinned elves so the uninspired elf RPers can feel pretty! Elves were a mistake in my opinion.
Horde does have playable Sin’Dorei (among other playable races). In any case we’re not talking about them. We’re talking about Alliance Quel’Dorei. They exist, they are there, they have been there for years. There’s no need for Blood Elves to feel that we’re talking about them when we’re talking about another group.
I’ve had more than one helfer tell me they’d take the looks difference between a sw human and a kt if it meant they’d get helves which they want for more reason, but do continue trolling my dude
If the AR’s were formulaic in how successful they’d be, there wouldn’t be flops – as there are a plethora of poorly received AR’s, it suggests they weren’t designing them based upon how much they would contribute to the revenue and instead designed them based upon how much time they were allotted to work on them.
The thinking being that when Papa Ion walks into your cubicle and says, “you’ve got two weeks to design a Draenei-based Allied Race, don’t disappoint me or we’ll steal something else from the Alliance and give it to the Horde”, you make the decision whether or not you can completely re-model and re-texture the clear choice (i.e. Broken) or if you just need to throw some tattoos and horseshoes on the existing Draenei and call it a day.
why not? i’m a scottish/french/english/german mutt. married a guy thats very mediterranean in appearance, olive skin that turns nearly black in the sun, dark brown eyes but hungarian ancestory. hes probably got african, semite, european, even some indian in there.
The high elves that sided with the Alliance are literally just Sin’Dorei that refused the name change out of some misguided loyalty to the Alliance. They’re not different at all, no matter how much the people on this thread and the discord try to say otherwise.
The Kul-Tirans actually look good, and have good lore behind them. Not to mention there’s the Drust-admixture and influence. Compared to the pitiful differences between two waifish elves with different eye-colors.
That ‘muttness’ doesn’t occur in the span of one generation. Why would the elves interbreed anyways, they live far longer than ‘filthy humans’.
wowowowwowowow hahah, xD…ok…ok…sorry…I just had to, gimme a minute and i’ll read the remaining of the post.
EDIT:
hah…heh heh…-ehem-- Ok.
Uhm.
No.
Now, if you care for explanations:
First - The Quel’Dorei that are today Alliance, were n the Alliance from many years before Kael’Thas decided that “We are no longer High Elves…” and Quel’Thalas people became Sin’Dorei.
Second - A group of people, namely Quel’Dorei, who’s been an Alliance member. Fighting for the Alliance, alongside every other Alliance race, during years, and that can be located in many Alliance cities/towns/outposts, even if they share a race, are most certainly not the same people who’ve been :
Alliance > Isolated > Illidari or Isolated in Quel’Thalas > Maybe Scryer - Maybe work for demons > Isolated again > Horde.
They are two very different groups of people who have different ideas, values, customs, live on different palces, share a race.
Because they were always supposed to be sub-races. They were made to give the different race option with as little work as possible.
Ergo: why nightborne arent the npc style, why LFD literally are just draenai with tattoos.
Literally the first four were done with such little fanfare that two of them are very underplayed. The other two arent because elves.
I think ARs were planned for a while about either 8.1 or 8.1.5 because there was too much highlight on the nightborne to excuse that.
The other problem was…they would have to retexture ALL broken NPCs (meaning redoing bosses, quest mobs, npcs from over a number of expacs) and they would have to make it on the draenai rig instead of the current TAUREN rig.
Because thats what everyone knows them from. It would be like if Blizzard changed paladin to be a cloth-wearing archer because it would be the same as D&D if they went with melee plate wearing light user.
