Quite simply though: some of us have been engaged in what we’re trying to keep a respectful debate and discussion. As soon as you say “I don’t care about their reasons, they’re ridiculous” or you blatantly put words in people’s mouths you’ve just lost your place at that respectful discussion table. Doesn’t stop you from interjecting your opinions…but it does mean you can expect a pretty dismissive response from the other side. If that’s how you would like it be that’s entirely your choice.
I’m not going down that road, I’ve worked to be a respectful voice of the opposition here, willing to have discussions and debates without resorting to that - and I’m going to continue to. Whether that’s with you or not is entirely your choice.
If you want to - again - put words in my mouth and say I said you should be treated disrespectfully I’m just going to post the actual words I wrote and let people judge that for themselves. It’s ironic - seriously ironic - that you’re using a post I made calling for civility and mutual respect to try and say I was being disrespectful.
