I wasn’t happy that Void elves got an identical model from Blood elves, no, but the fact that some visual disparities existed made it far more comforting. When a character is covered in their gear they’re not really broadcasting which race they are, but really the gear itself, so the fact that they can look the same to someone with similar gear isn’t a huge problem, but if the race itself looks identical than it becomes a problem.
I don’t disagree, my problem has never been with High elves on the alliance, but rather certain themes I feel should remain distinct between them and the blood elves.
If the void elves were given a new model, and the Nightborne got an identical Night elf model, we’d be having an entirely different conversation, if one at all.
Eh, Void elves have some pretty cool, unique hair styles that aren’t available to Blood elves. The amount of customization they came with makes the Nightborne look like an after-thought with nearly double the amount of options in each field.
And the only thing that stopped Belf players from completely rioting is the fact that the void elves were changed in the ways that they were. And now it’s done, and it isn’t ever going to change, or be taken back.
And I agree, the void elves should have been made from high elves, at least then players could roleplay or fulfill a lore fantasy within the Alliance they’ve been asking for, for quite some time and still maintain those visual distinctions. Sadly they did not, and perhaps it’s because they have plans for them in the future, who knows. Again, my argument is not against the idea of playable high elves, but ripping the last remaining visual theme from the Blood elves.
