Velves could have solved the issue if Blizzard had paid attention to what people asked for and put real effort into their introduction. Velves were made just to give Alliance the thalassian model. It’s pretty clear now, with them having no arc at all in BfA.
In doing such a lazy work, Blizzard just showed it didn’t care.
(This is no attack on void elf fans. But usually void elf fans are those intrigued by the new concept who had no strong feeling about high elves in the first place. And even void elf fans may feel a little upset by how little attention the race’s lore has gotten.)
