Since 8.2.5 (and perhaps earlier) my 2017 and 2019 MBPs’ CPU usage has been abnormally high. After 8.3 dropped it shot into the 250% range despite using well below recommended settings.
For the past 12 years I have played on macs and always used the WoW app icon to launch the game from my dock. Randomly today for the first time (ever!) I launched the game using the battle.net app instead and my CPU usage has dropped to the lowest it’s been since BFA was released. Moreover, in-game performance has actually substantially improved with the new patch while launching WoW via battle.net.
I have tested numerous times both ways with the same results. I have no idea why this is the case or if anyone else is dealing with the same issue but I thought I would post in the off-chance some of you are still using the old school WoW launcher and hope this helps.
